There were those who claimed that in some aspects, Tausig may have outshone Liszt...and indeed, no one denies Tausig's place in pianism, but comparisons of master with pupil are generally odious and an awful waste of time. Tarnowsky was an artist well-equipped by his studies with Bobinski and Yesipova...he worked with Horowitz for far longer than did Blumenfeld - who was surely not the only influence on Horowitz's pianistic development.
