Fascinating video, although it could have been longer; they were enjoying their art. It is a sweatshop supplying western countries with cheap pottery. The Vietnamese, a peaceful hard working people with great creativity. To think that psychopaths from a certain country bombed the hell out of them 50 years ago - for what?
on the map, Vietnam is just below china. Our country is in south east Asia :) i am just a little sad to hear that you want to go to Europe after you said that you loved pottery :(.
Hi, I visited a few souvenir shop in Vietnam. There are some ceramic items I was told are very old. There are markings at the bottom of plates that say "Dainan". What is the origin and dates of these "Dainan" relics?
What a most beautiful, positive and life-affirming comment. I am presently in South Africa (land of my birth) where my mother is very ill, and I am confounded by the level of resignation I sense among my people, whose cultural traditions are not too dissimilar to those of the Vietnamese.
This video has moved me and given me hope for my mother.
This is why Vietnam is 2nd fastest growing economy in the World right now. Vietnamese people are fun, creative and hard working. Ppl in Vietnam appreciate life and they enjoy it each day no matter how tough it is.

I was traveling on a photo tour and we happened to stop here because our guide had gotten sick, so we took a break and met these wonderful people! If you would like to see more photos from the trip, here are my photos, and my brother's photos respectively!

Nice video but your choice of music has made it almost impossible to watch with speakers on.

@Spring595 thanks, i wonder if you mean that the music+background machinery in many parts sounded bad or that you just don't like M83?

Thanks for sharing the video. Enjoyed it.
You asked for editing tips, I have some for shooting too.
1> Zoom while recording usually looks bad. Use it to frame what you want, press record, stop, frame next shot and start recording again.
2> Sometimes difficult, but try to get a stable hold of the camera (tripod is best but a wall, bag or steady hand can do) for a better quality shot.
3> For this I'd have shot each worker for 1 or 2 mins and edited the best bits together in order of "process".

Hard work and determination will pay back... Like your determination to do anything to make your mom better.
I hope your mother will be well.

Thanks for the insight into a production workshop in Vietnam. Nice little video. Are you working in Vietnam as a potter or just touring?
