No relation, my husband, Ricky Willis is a retired police sergeant here in Nashville (35 yrs). He was the guitar player in "The Blue Lites" an all police band that played, in their uniforms at every school in and around Nashville and police and fireman balls all over the country during the 70's and 80's.
Thank you, sir. We have a jam session on Sunday nights, and I always try to end it with a gospel song-especially since we usually do a fair amount of drinking songs...and drinking.
Actually, your's, and Jan's, comments on the other videos I posted inspired me to take my camera last week.
I felt the Lord smiling on us-so much that this tough old broad shed happy tears.
Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words. I'll tell all the others.
Hey there Lorrie, iffin' I lived closer, I'd be there next Jam, I'm sure as would Jan, and my steel pickin' friend Terry. I'd even bring my own Gin bottle..LoL
Thanks Nathan! That was the closing song of our Sunday Night Jam Session at Moundville last week, so we were all feeling pretty good. I'm glad you like it. I just called Cody and told him you commented, he laughed that low, little chuckle of his and said "way cool tell him I said hi."
Thanks so much for commenting on our videos. It's nice to know others enjoy them.
Thanks so much, Jan. That mandolin picker is "Little Cody Reed." What a treasure he is! He's the bass player in my nephew's band, Eric Lane and The Doghouse Band, but appreciates the old style of music that Dan and I do and picks anything with strings on it! I love him like he's my own and so proud of him. Thanks so much for watching our video and especially for taking the time to post a comment.
Well, he sure is good. He should play more, louder, he plays great but u have to listen hard to hear him. I could hear him from about 1:59-2:26 and he totally melted me, I want more of that, little tremelo circa 3:05, melted again. The ending... encore. please!
Between Eric's guitar, which is an entire rhythm section, LCR playing mando like he's the only lead instrument, y'all on vocals,... Do you know how lucky you are? You do this every Sunday? This is downright spiritual.
we love u guys God bless

I love this beautiful song and touching performance. What a nice family vid. I hear some tasty mandolin picking here and wondering who's playing it?
