When DWW first came out, FM radio stations played 2 instrumentals from John Barry written for DWW but you could not purchase them, you could only hear them on the radio....one was very much lilke the DWW theme and the other one was called The Buffalo Hunt. This movie is like a fine wine...better with age. A true classic. Over time, one realizes this movie is about the life of the Lakota, not John Dunbar. Costner's heart was in the right place when he pressed forward to make this movie...from the brilliant casting of McDonnell, Grant, Greene, Tantoo; to his insistence of using the proper Lakota language and clothes. And who doesn't love Cisco and Two Socks? Lastly, the music of John Barry is beautiful beyond words.

Listning to this soundtrack sends chills down my spine everytime. This movie and soundtrack is a pure classic. While I didn't mind Avatar, at no point during the movie did I get that same feeling...I own both of these movies. Avatar is great to pop into the blue ray and watch for it's effects and CGI, but when I put in Dances With Wolves in my old VCR player, nothing comes close.

@PHARRAOH LMAO; the most boring piece of crap I ever sat thru. Costner is no more convincing portraying a Civil-War era horse soldier than he was playing a Federal agent. He has to be the worst actor of the last 30 years. If he builds a ballfield his father will come--who cares? That piece of junk ranks a close second and is only saved by Jones and Lancaster. The score of this movie is beautiful, and deserved a much better vehicle.

no I'm talking about the Abrahamic Religions, Buddhism and Zoroaster...which Hinduism had an immediate effect on. There are primary sources left on Hinduism, whereas the so called "pagan" religions, there isn't much records.Since HInduism encompasses a lot, all religions in the Indian subcontinent can be Hindu. Buddhism originated this way.

When DWW first came out, FM radio stations played 2 instrumentals from John Barry written for DWW but you could not purchase them, you could only hear them on the radio....one was very much lilke the DWW theme and the other one was called The Buffalo Hunt. This movie is like a fine wine...better with age. A true classic. Over time, one realizes this movie is about the life of the Lakota, not John Dunbar. Costner's heart was in the right place when he pressed forward to make this movie...from the brilliant casting of McDonnell, Grant, Greene, Tantoo; to his insistence of using the proper Lakota language and clothes. And who doesn't love Cisco and Two Socks? Lastly, the music of John Barry is beautiful beyond words.

Listning to this soundtrack sends chills down my spine everytime. This movie and soundtrack is a pure classic. While I didn't mind Avatar, at no point during the movie did I get that same feeling...I own both of these movies. Avatar is great to pop into the blue ray and watch for it's effects and CGI, but when I put in Dances With Wolves in my old VCR player, nothing comes close.
