Malcolm X.

The famous jazz trumpeter Miles Davis once wrote a piece for Buddy based on the legend of John Henry; the story of a strong Black man whose heart eventually gave out on him (but Buddy never got around to recording it).

two factoids about this song: Jimi Hendrix died during the recording of it, and Buddy and his band once performed this live before Yusuf Islam took the stage (i.e Cat Stevens) at the Montreux festival, '71. He had just released his 'Teaser And The Firecat' album featuring "Peace Train".  This is the same show upon which the Deep Purple song "Smoke On The Water" is based.
