@beatlesXXXluver101 It's salty. And no, there are no American foods like it. You could try Promite or Marmite if they have those in America, I think they're both from England... but they don't really taste anything like Vegemite. Buy some off eBay or something.

In the first place, Vegemite is about the saltiest food you will ever taste! I am also an American, and I have never tasted anything like it anywhere other than Australia. However, I understand that they have it in New Zealand too. If you would like to try it, you could probably order on Ebay or, depending on where in the United States you live, you might be able to find a specialty shop that sells it.

In the first place, if they sell Vegemite online, might you be able to order it that way? Also, I have heard of Marmite but have never taisted it. Can anyone explain how it is different from Vegemite? Is it made by a different company?

I used to live near a store in Texas called the Down Under Shop. They sold all sort of Australian novelties. You could buy little jars of Vegemite there. Maybe you will find a place like that.
