Carrie has been quoted more recently as saying that there could be a Sleater-Kinney reunion within the next 5 years with new material. Hearing Wild Flag and Corin's solo band, I don't think this is at all an unlikely prospect. I can wait. I'm enjoying both bands.
Band changed my life. Wish there was more, but I understand her perspective. Wouldn't want to see them (not them!) go through the motions. Got "Dig me Out" when it came out on a recommendation. Didn't get it at all (at first), but then grew to love it and adore their "words+guitar" on all their releases previous and from that point on. Got to see them live twice, and being from So. Texas, i still feel like a lucky guy.
what about a benefit show, carrie? "sleater-kinney reunites to raise money for starving kids" or something. because tons of people would go and it would be for the good of the world!! pleeease...
Even Stephen Malkamus is touring again with Pavement. Do you know how much it took for that to happen? Yes, probably the desire for more money but that isn't the point.
The point is -- if someone like Stephen can suck it up long enough for the rest of the band not to murder him then logic should follow that SK tours again.
shut up this isn't supposed to make sense. i'm trying to play SK on my radio show but i'm running out of tracks. help a dj out here.
Fair enough if they don't feel they can write anymore as Sleater-Kinney, but just play some occasional live shows anyway because more and more people are gagging for it, I can see this band just becoming more and more popular, especially as they went out on a high
@PartyDown1000 haha i'm a woman, lesbian, feminist and all that I just had a moment of weakness where I felt like stating the obvious that watching her through the years ...about 10 now, I still find her very attractive.
i just discovered sk about a year ago and the prospect of maybe not getting to see them live makes me sad. but im optimistic. I hope they find a story they can tell or more music to play

Carrie B, I remember thinking those early SK records were so good. Then I was all like, wait a minute-she's singing about how giving a blow jobs sucks, and isn't fun.Of course it's not fun for her, she's a lesbian.
I wouldn't wanna give one either, and I think actually the giver is the one who gets the most out of it,and it's psychological more than anything.
sleater-kinney is so awesome and i can't believe they've been broken up 2 years. i hope they don't reform though. i think the woods was their best album and probably the best of the live shows i saw too. its better to burn out then to fade away.
Sigh. I discovered them after renting the first season of Rollins show. I was hynotized. Downloaded 3 albums, loved them, and then did some research and found they had been broken up for 2 years. Never say never!!
SK was one of the best live bands, but I just don't think the reunion circuit is for them. If you missed them live, then I feel bad for you, but they shouldn't be relegated to lame "play their hits" shows.
that is one of the BEST ideas I have heard in a long time! I love Le Tigre (and Julie Ruin) but it'd be nice to hear KH rock again like the Bikini Kill days...OR, for Carrie to experiment a bit with electronics. Carrie works well with others; The Spells showed how well she worked with Mary Timony...record was too short, tho.
So...attractive...

At least they ended it with The Woods, one of the best albums of the decade.

Better they break up than to continue on, releasing shitty albums. The Woods was pretty damn good.
