Playing with them( Chuk Cooley & the Demon Hammers) w/ WHITESNAKE & many more at Rocklahoma 2011 Fri.May 27th by far one of the coolest metal bands ever!
it's a 'sound alike' in a GOOD way i mean :). why not twist and continue on a good formula. 'in the cold dark night' ~ ~ that wasn't in still of the night. how cool is that :))
'sounds like' led zeppelin? :) lol. i think it's a bit beyond obvious that this echoes much of 'Still of the Night', which in turn echoed very much L.Z.'s Black Dog. but... who cares... whitesnake rocks :) sounds like they put a lot of high energy into recording this goes without saying great chorus/harmonization, ballsy classic DC vocals. ok that's my opinionated take on things.
David Coverdale, c'est toujours un bonheur de te voir sur scène et merci de nous donnez autant de plaisir à t'écouter chanter, quelle voix , tu es le meilleur!!!!!!
@serena2190 It does, and not by coincidence. Whitesnake and Zep share some lineage. In my book, Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" is the best Zeppelin song Zeppelin never did.
Coverdales only 58 thats just a youngster lol He was just a baby of 22 when he joined Deep Purple !! One of the finest voices in rock history but sadly he cant cut it live anymore
@24SweetThing 61 !!! no shit ? I was just thinking that old rock stars all start to look the same at a certain age(beat up,tired).. Alice Cooper,Robert plant ,Dee Snider,Dave Coverdale, the list goes on... touring is rough on a person.

Props and well wishes to this band! Great craftsmen they all are. Still, this smacks badly of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" (especially the verses), with a little of derivative fluff for the chorus: I am reminded of Boston, Bon Jovi or any other long haired US rock band going for pop crossover success in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A for delivery, D for originality. Too bad.
I just want that shirt!! Coverdale is one of the best. I also like that new guy Doug Aldrige( don't know the proper spelling). I wish dave and Klaus would get together for an album. maybye Plant could come in for some tracks too!! Would be a great vocal album! Klaus, Dave, or Plant? Of course we can't forget Paul Rodgers or Steve Perry. Lou Grahm is also very good.
Zepplin? Sounds more like Deep Purple to me...so did Still Of The Night...probably because Coverdale was a member of Deep Purple....and Zepplin didn't invent blues...which is what this is....and what most of Zepplins tunes were....
Oh God this song is FANTASTIC! When I saw Whitesnake and David introduced this one, I really did go ballistic! I've never screamed so much in my life! haha. And then David saw the reaction of the crowd who were all going crazy and said, "Ah, so this is where the party starts!" Love you DC, next time we will have to meet up for some carrot cake. ;) (Remember babe???) ;) ;)
Whitesnake rocks, but this song may give Robert Plant fuel for his fire. This sounds like a Robert Plant song. And before anyone gets their shorts in a knot, I love Whitesnake and think Coverdale is exceptional.
I remember them playing this list night. So awesome. He said, "Hey everybody, we got this farely new song called Lay Down Your Love. and if you don't know it by now you fuckin will in 30 seconds" That concert was so fun, White Snake and Judas Priest kicked ass
i love this song, but it's not a great video. too many "grainy" effects and it just kinda failed to capture the live energy this band has. their live videos from the 80s were much better done. still a great song though (even if it is missing like two minutes)
there are a lot of great bands who lost their way in the late 80's. Coverdale is the shit - and anything "Slide It In" or before is kick-ass shit, and fuck you if you dont like it -
