  • Gotta love rotoscoping.

  • Although it is only traditional animation, that tree looked a bit 3Dish

  • Bambi is the source of more re-used animation than anything. The hunting dogs alone were used in "Ichabod and Mr. Toad" and "Escape to Witch Mountain" (opening credits). Also, footage from "The Old Mill" is popular. (Look for the wind-blown reeds in other films including "The Little Mermaid".

The tree that twists as it falls was designed for "Pinocchio" but not used there.

The "Dumbo" circus tent flapping in the rain turned into a sail in "The Little Mermaid" Yup, they borrow a lot.

  • interesting, but not at all surprising. With how much work had to go into animation back then (better than now in my opinion) it would only be logical to save time and money to reuse some poses.

  • yeah but the wolf on the right his tooth shines if you look closely

  • LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMBERT, the sheepish lion...

  • That wolf scene looks like something that could have came from the first Rugrats movie aswell :S

  • It took me a while to see it, but the trees are almost exactly the same, except one's on fire and the other has leaves and it's a bit darker.

  • Another thing you could show is how this one bluebird in "Bambi" was later seen in the opening scene of "Alice In Wonderland".

  • why does this at all matter? Do you feel cheated in some way? It probably saved time and money and still served the stories well.

  • I noticed that the tree falling of Bambi/Fun and Fancy Free seemed similar, and I noticed that for the wolf too.

That wolf still kind of scares me.

  • did you see the one in the jungle book....I dont know which was made first either sword in the stone or that but there is a part were the dogs are licking arthur's face that is the exact same as the part were the wolves lick mogalies

  • about 1:19 on the right screen you can see where they spliced it together.

  • Recycled music too.

  • great!

  • Wow, I didn't know there was recycled animation in those particular disney films. All I knew was that there was recycled animation in the disney films from 1967 to the 1970s.
