  • Imagine how bright they are with the flood lights on. I cannot wait to upgrade my headlights to these.

  • GLARE!!!!!!!

  • i have the H4 9003 4500k Xenon pure white's there beautiful (no HID system) and i have glass headlamps so they are pretty bright

  • HIDs are "illegal" but cops do not enforce the law on having conversion HIDs in your cars ne more. It just became too prevalent the fact that even "semi trucks" (18 wheelers) use it now.

  • I drive with 20k and ive been pulled over for speeding but cops never said anything about my hids

  • Far safer than people not being able to see you although I'm more of a pure retrofit enthusiast but know accidents caused by blinding lights is a very rare case if there's been any documented. 60% of accidents occur at night due to poor lighting conditions. I recently swapped with the newer Philips 'plus' 4300K bulbs. There's more hint of yellow but they are much brighter than my old pair of 4300K's that had a bit of cooler color.

  • @sidehop Far safer than the increasing number of idiots driving at night with NO LIGHTS on whatsoever!

Hello! Are theses guys using the force or what?!

  • Hey the halogen to the left ? what do they use that light for ?

  • Projector headlights are made for your car. They will help reduce some of the glare your getting from your factory headlight assembly housing.

  • @crysisdood ... well unfortunately we didn't install them correctly ... but i am getting a whole new led halo projectors for my rsx with either 4,300k or 6,000k xenon bulbs ... i'll try and make a video regardless of the temp of the bulbs.

  • im getting the Xenon HID conversion kit installed in my 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LT this summer. As long as i stick with the white color i shouldnt have any problems

  • i've got 4350 kelvin. pretty white color and a really good illumination also on a black or rainy subfont

  • These are still illegal though

  • I've been using the lights for over 2 years now and never been stopped, maybe the police have better things to do than fine me for my headlights being too white.

  • Comment removed

  • That doesn't stop other drivers from thinking you are too ignorant and cheap to retrofit.

  • @NeoDeterminist I couldn't care less as long as my car keeps passing the mot's and lighting-up the road unlike ever before. Just make sure they're adjusted properly. Cheap?? You betcha!

  • @SomethingNewEveryDay aw they are...... well stop watching the dang vid if u dont like HID headlights or if ur a pussy . Dude get a life, stop worry bout what u call illegal headlights which are now LEAGAL besides youll probably stay with the looser yellow halogens which suck so yea get a life and stop worry about HID headlights........... fag!

  • What's important is to have them re-aligned after installation just to be sure. Also, if your car has a headlamp hight adjustment dial on your dash, use it this time whenever your car's loaded up.

If you stick to an inconspicus/sensible colour temp like 4300K, cops won't be attracted to them and you'll pass your MOT or whatever anual inspection your car has to do.

  • BUT - If your headlamps are reflectors AND equipped with that little cap inside that hides the bulb/burner from direct view, AND you have your lights properly aligned at a garage AND that your re-based-hid-kit-bulbs are exactly the specs for the halogen it replaces (ie. quality) then the cut-off will be the same as with the origianal bulbs, being the only difference the BRIGHTNESS of your lights.

  • @den2003 Exactly, but most people are idiots and just throw them into halogen housings.

  • @den2003

sorry. wrong. its not the cap that matters. it does matter. but its not the reason they have a fucked cut off.

the cutoff is fucked because of the different position of the light source. the filament in a halogen is not in the same place as the gas chamber in a xenon bulb.

youll never get it right with reflectors unless your car came with them.

  • @scottdsherman I think that depends on individual quality issues with the bulbs themselves from whichever chinese "brand" and bulb size. My car uses H7's and they are pretty bang on - they sail through the mot every year. But i understand that some sizes are harder to get the alignment properly such as H4, for example, or any other size that the filament is in a awkward position, impossible to replicate with a burner, but made/sold anyways, causing glare, etc. Quality varies greatly, I admit.

  • Nah 4300k are the best IMO. They're like Creamy White.

It's what all new hid equipped cars mostly use.

6000K is too blue/greyish like my led torch and 8000K is downright blue.

Remember, Bright Creamy White, not Yellow. LOL

  • my new led flashlight is 4000k 150lumen.. just love it.. 3000k are good for fog lights. 4000-5000k are good for all normal use...

  • yea i just had 4,300k xenon's installed on my rsx ... brightest temp and best looking ;)

  • @den2003 Actually there are a few that come OEM with 5500K, but I can't remember which ones. I think maybe the new challengers or chargers or camaro; whichever one comes with OEM HID I think they are factory 5500K. IMHO I like the 5000K the best. I have the 5000K in my bixenon retrofit and I like it much better than the 4300K. I think the 4300K gives off a more yellow hue whereas my 5000K is a perfect balance between 4300K and 6000K and is a VERY pure white no blue whatsoever nor yellow :-)

  • @sqhschief I've seen retrofitted cars over here that appear to have something between 4300k and 6000k - and I admit, it looks awesome! A spooky looking white!

On the other hand, 6000k begins to take on a bluey look, which I'm certain, will become tiring for the driver.

  • @sqhschief More than likely because of the lens. 4300K is the brightest in lumen intensity although I agree somewhere around the 5500~5600K mark is the color of the sunlight.

  • @sidehop You're right about the 4300K being the most lumens. Yeah 5500K is the color of sunlight at noon.

  • All retrofit HID bulbs are illegal to use on the road in the UK. Don't be a idiot and get popper HID approved headlights if you want HIDs.

  • no no no. 4300 is the most light there is. from 6000 and beyond the blue light is taking away the real light.

so 4300k is the best option if you want the most light. if you want to look like a silly bastard you have to get 6000k or above. but it will cost you light. but not that bad as halogen.

  • I was lucky enough to get a 4300K conversion kit for £20 off Ebay even though it's priced at £60+, all you have to do is find an auction that ends on a morning as most people will still be in bed so it's an easy win.

  • I brought some HID quality halogen bulbs off ebay. 5900k i think. They work great. Did you get the conversion kit?

  • silly question how much IR light does a typical hid produce and to what wavelength,if used with an 830 nM filter what is the lower limit of the bandwidth...?nobody knows in the showrooms, sorry mate were salesmen not engineers..........

  • I keep worrying over getting 4300k HID's (instead of 6000k) that they'll look too yellow until I see something like this. Night/day improvement over halogen... and NO yellow. thanks for helping my decision.
