  • A lot of Liz's stuff is quite abrasive, in some way. Usually the lyrics, sometimes the general oddness of a song. But this...(and this isn't to discredit any of her other stuff from Exile, which is the only album I know of hers)...this is just bloody lovely. From beginning to end, so blissful, so atmospheric, so nice. An amazing song from someone who I like to think didn't really care what people might think of it.

  • Liz Phair. Thank you for sharing your music with us.

  • The other Liz Phair tune helping me now. On Valentines Day of all days. Figures.

  • AHHHH Liz, why are you so amazing

  • :'(

    *Tear*

    Why happened to herrrrrrrrr

  • i love this album-I was living in chicago when it came out and all the cool people didn't like it but i always did and it reminds me of cold winter

  • I love the gentle throbbing feedback creeping in as she strums, makes the whole piece sound mystical, a meditative emotional trance -

  • This helped me when my fiance and I split as well. I love Liz's music. I don't know what I'd have done without it.

  • Hauntingly beautiful.. just like Liz

  • I've always loved when this song appeared in Scott Carrier's This American Life Stories. The haunting guitar rythm goes perfectly with his desperate inflection!

  • My favorite song from "Exile". musically, lyrically & sonically perfect. Beautiful & haunting...

  • For me that's what is lovely about the song. Doesn't care at all about structure or meeting anyone's expectations. So, so chilled out in one way, and yet a very emotional song on another level.

It has that slightly delirious late night feel to it, like Sometimes by My Bloody Valentine.

  • @brodftw weird I was just listening to that song before this one

  • after a couple hits and hearing this for the first time, i now must have the remake of Exile.

  • thank you for posting this

this is a deeply personal song

i think Liz Phair saved two lives with this song

    one of them was mine

  • @davekat That's soo cool, how did it save you?

  • it's a long story

    and very personal

when she played Toronto I gave her a dozen roses

and i didn't even tell her why....

  • @davekat hen I broke up with my fiance I listened to this song for a long time. It was indeed personal and therapeutic to me as well.

  • @davekat I'm glad you made it out alive...it always looks worse from the inside than it really is/

  • great song, great song writer : thanks Liz

  • Thank you for posting this!
