  • your accent is so amazing :) I actually had no idea where the battery was located, only knew of the SIM and memory card. Since I have no nails I couldn't even take off the battery cover but I got someone else to do it for me and it worked fine. SIM and memory card are easy-peasy too. Thanks for uploading!

  • Thank You!!!!

  • thank you very much i fixed the problem i was having :3

its actually pretty easy to get the battery off as long as you just do a quick pull up

  • I hope HTC design team or any of the people that works in the battery and sim cover sees our complaints :) and on how hard to remove these

  • I can't get the sim card cover off no matter how much force i use :(

  • i had to put some extra effort. the small slit where you put ur nails, opens up easily but the other side is so stuck.

  • Cheers mate most helpful, Although my cover was a right bastard to get off.

  • Brilliant, thanks alot. Glad to see Im not the only one who had trouble with this

  • AHH! i finally got my battery cover to come off! i used a nail file just like some of the other comments said and it actually worked! i took the nail file and kinda jammed i in i guess. All i really did was insert it where the little minus is on the sound bar and lifted up. Then i just put the nail file where the plus is and did the same.

  • thank you!! been tryin to get my battery out for weeks!

  • I broke a nail doing it. Then I used a nail tool thingy, and it worked. They need a way to reset the phone without having to take out the battery! Cause that was unpleasant. And my phone just stopped working...Had it for like 2 weeks. Rock on HTC.

  • how do i do this for htc desire s?

  • thanks!

  • Thanks for saving me a bunch of stress!

  • Thanks! I thought my battery was wedged in, didn't realise you could slide it out with a "flick" :D

  • @stalepriest i just put a fingernail in the side and pull. To get the battery out i shake it on its side till it falls out

  • What's shown in this video regarding teh battery is a complete fantasy, I had to prise the battery cover of with a dinner knife, then the battery is stuck. I have chipped the side of my phone and mangled the indentation on the battery cover, fucking HTC bell ends. Grrr!

  • thanks for your email. way more helpful than the HTC support people who told me the SD card was in the battery compartment.

  • Thanks Your video really helped on my new HTC :]

  • WHATEVER ....you do do not use a hammer and pickk.... holy fuck what have i done

  • @jakeyyboy100 why did you use a hammer

  • what kind of fucking idiots seal the battery in an unusable condition inside the phone before you receive it, unbelievable, its impossible to open the bastard thing!! its getting marked already, well irritating

  • you shouldnt open you sim cover like that, i did it that way and both the ends bent - almost touching each other- but thankfully htc sent me a replacement.

the design was not thought through

  • Thank you! This was so helpful lol :)

  • Battery cover open but I can't get the battery itself out! In the video it just falls out but mine is stuck in there! HELP pls :(

  • @Lizzibaba just a slight tap with battery facing down usin ur hand be gentle and it will slide out eventually don't worry the phone is built with the odd drop or two in mind so a gentle tap won't hurt it but I don't take liability for any damage that may be caused should it break :-)

  • fuckin stupid sonofabitch whoever designed this sutpid fuckin battery cover!

  • @arkosphilos oh wow I am having such a good laugh reading all these angry comments haha

  • Thanks that's brill, as soon as I took the battery cover off it restarted! Had no idea how to get it off, was terrified of breaking the damn thing.

  • bloody hell, my poor fingers, but thanks for the video.

  • thanks for this, was having a bit of trouble putting the battery cover back on

  • cheers fella.

  • This was fantastically helpful. Thank you.

  • start from the front. insert... your nail *side eye*into the tiny space ( where the phone ends and the cover starts. then you kind of just pry it open. the back is impossible.

  • thank you!

  • I used a credit card. HARDEST THING EVER, thought I had broken my phone already. Tip: make the people in the shop do it for you, then if they break it, its on them :)

  • It's the worst battery cover ever..

    It's so tough to open!!

  • Battery life is quite OK if you set your syncs for once an hour or more. If you use LauncherPro to rotate the home screen, it devastates battery life for some reason (like 50% battery loss in two hours).

  • dont use your nail people

  • you flicked it open like a light switch? that is so annoying. im using a knife that even isnt working

  • i am thinking of buing an htc desire hd but the only problem is battery life...is it too bad??htc says it can be standby for 420h is that true?

  • thanks alot!

  • It took me 2 minutes, just don't be afraid to really try to open it :)

  • I CANT OPEN THE BATTERY COVER!!! i swear its impossible!!! my nails hurt!!!

    what shall i do????

  • @emacwakeup do you have a guitar plectrum / pick? If you do this will be ideal to get it lifted just enough to make it easy for you to remove with your fingers and won't damage any of the paint or plastic. Or an old credit card but smooth the edges off ( the credit card not the phone ) with a nail file should help :-)

  • @lilvfr400boy ahhhh.... great idea. only its a little late. i had to KNIFE my £400 phone!!! atleast i know for next time!! thanx!

  • @emacwakeup HAHA same with me my nail bloody kills

  • @emacwakeup I was having the same problem getting my nails hurt while opening the battery cover,

what you do basically once you open the lid from the right side, try lifting from the left offcourse if that dont work

then try moving the lid from the right side like move it with a little force and trying doing it from the left side

it should pop up for you, well thats how it worked for me so yeah (-_-)

  • Not to mention that this video is so pointless and stupid, you also didn't mount SIM cover correctly.

I guess anything is good enough to make a video of?

  • @foladko this vid helped a fair few people as the instruction manual is about as much use as a wet fart. And actually I think you will find the wil cover was mounted perfectly. Now fuck off you bell end

  • @lilvfr400boy

I never post anything without a reason.

    1. it's COVER - retards have enough brain to mount it as you did, again, anything to make vids right?

    2. The manual is more correct than you

    3. Here is the proof: yyyy://forum.xda-developers.yyy/showthread.php?t=827091&highlight=mount+sim+cover

    (Please replace y)

Mounting it like you did is not right, and can lead to a gap, not to mention removing it like you did will wear it out after a few times.

  • @foladko the manual also says to charge before removing the plastic cover that is around the battery. Il trust my tried and tested technique you keep babbling on mate, if your commenting on my vid even u watched it so u must have watched for a reason, if you wana scratch the fuck out of your phone as opposed to maybe replacing a cheap cover please do so but fuck off commenting useless shit on my vid

  • @foladko oh also my cover fits better then my friends who followed the manual and I remove my cover daily for SD card and sim swaps so unless you have tried this as much as I have and actually know then Rli mate your preaching to the wrong person

  • @lilvfr400boy

You're one really anoying english homo, I'll give you that.

And honestly, I don't give a shit about idiots like yourself, if you think you're better and smarter than everyone else then fine!

[DHD camera video] Enjoy your shitty apartment haha!

  • @foladko unlike you I have a girl u cock, also its a 3 bed house not an apartment, don't use homophobic phrasing on my videos it shows your stupidity and lack of tolerance. Stop bein a complete fool and drop it you obviously are out matched and are too stupid too enjoy a real argument

  • @foladko look I am sick of my inbox as it is being cluttered up so let's just agree to disagree at the end of the day its what you like to do we both chose a dhd over an iPhone and other phones so we must have some common ground at least we both have good taste in phones? Truce? BTW what country are you from

  • Different batches are harder too remove then some

  • Cover sld b covered under years warranty mate

  • Fist thing I did was snap this cover in half before I had even turned the phone on for the first time! Piece of fucking shit!!!!! Beware when taking the sim cover off, it's a very common thing to do! HTC have just started selling these pieces for £18.99 rather than giving them out to hundreds of pissed off customers!

  • Tap the phone sideways until it slides out but gently, also if u do put it in backwards you can use a magnet to remove it or two mini screwdrivers one either side with another person holding the phone

  • I got my Desire HD with battery inserted in wrong direction...

So, I can't pull it out... The pins of battery are outer directed... No way I can pull it out with hands... Any ideas? :(

  • Thanks for that, wondered if I should push my SD card up to pop it out, but wasn't sure 'til I watched your vid!

  • YES I TOOK IT OUT AND I HAVE LONG NAILS... (female here)...

all you gotta do is put your nail inbetween a tiny gap.. and pull it... don't be afraid.. but make sure you put something in the gap where you have a grip... so push in.. then pull...

  • Tis ok glad it helped

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • lol i used knife ;D

  • oh i finally worked out how to stream my mob to laptop using the phone as a controller, also browse my laptops files, use the phone as a media device able to stream to ps3 and xbox yay

  • ya welcoome

  • Thank you very much this video was more helpful than the manual. finally i got my battery out at last. cheers

  • Wow you are genius

  • Yeah they are a Bitch but get easier once done a few times but I have bought a spare just in case lol

  • man u just made my day i was too scared to open it as i thought it would break. the problem is that if it breaks u lose the antennae of the receivers

  • wtf

  • The battery cover is more or less impossible to opben, my mother, father and I have broken our nails...

  • @Whisperingeyee best comment ever

  • Just received my phone in the post, it's stupidy difficult to open the darn battery cover grr!

  • Thanks a lot for your ultra clear demonstration and excellent verbal description of how to perform what should be a simple task. Htc decided to make it difficult. Your clip should be made made mandatory viewing / training in every phone store.

  • no worries very happy to help, yeah the sim card thing is odd but works lol

  • thanks for the video.. i just got mine and was finding it impossible to get the battery cover off! i was scared i was gonna break it but after seeing ur video i just went for it and it was fine! also in the little booklet the little image doenst show the sim card sticking out so wasnt sure if my phone was broken already till i saw this video so thanks again!

  • Really helpful video. My phone arrived this morning. No way would the battery cover move with a nail. The video and comments gave me the confidence to use to use a screwdriver. Success!

  • nope no cover problem you just need to be carefull when u do it but spares r cheap

  • thanks dude

  • Mione just came thru today. Thanks for the vid. It seems some people's battery covers are harder to remove than others, mine certainly was. A tip if you find it hard, insert nail under the battery tab AND the other side at the same time and use some force, honestly it won;t break although it feels like it! I suspect after you've taken it off and put it back on a few times it'll "loosen up". Good luck!

  • I CANT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT.

  • i believe i did lol

  • Thanks, I was afraid of breaking the battery-part

  • Great vid, thanks :)

  • For you it was really easy , but mine i think it is stuck cant open it my nail got cracked and still it wont get opened . What to do ???

  • @salmanbioshock SAME T_T

  • my battery is awsome as is my friends, i get between 1 and 2 days use now even when using internet etc the ppl complaining are not owning it for long enough and havent trained tge battery very well i.e charge all night ignoring the battery full led then let it run til it turns off and repeat mine was shit until i did this

  • Hows your battery ... I want to get this phone but people are complaining the battery wont last 5 hours or so .... please reply !

  • With that way of pushing the back panel, you will have a gap which will fill with dust.

  • I got mine in the post today, Its looks are great, but its SOOOOO BIG... like im gonna have to get insurance on this thing one drop and its overrrr..... for those who are really into a big screen this is for you...

  • Thanks for your video. Makes it easier to understand for this difficult phone.

  • you open the SIM-card hatch wrong

  • Comment removed

  • Does it automatically turn off when you slide out the sim/sd card cover? I mean because of those small coat plates down there...

  • Excellent overview mate, best i've seen on youtube for this phone. Mine is still on back order :-(

Question. I'm assuming thats the black one, or is it the Mocha (brown) one. I've never seen the Mocha one so not sure how dark it is. Reason I ask is I can get my hands on the Mocha one quicker, but not sure if I'll hate it.

  • Hi, I know it might be too soon to tell, but does anyone know if Mugen (preferably) or Seidio is working on an extended same size battery for this phone? Maybe 1800 mAh?? That would be great to achive around 40% better bat life....

  • @lilvfr400boy rgghh phones4u are shit! apparently they r 'out of stock' and I have 2 wait until friday now :'( ohh and btw, is the music player good on the DHD? also does it feel weird when your sitting down with it in your pocket? thanks

  • Lol, my dad's just gone 2 pick mine up from phones4u :D slaved!!

  • @yvibes lol awsome

  • Was meant to go get mine from the post office today cos no one was at home yesturday to answer the door....and the post office was close :( have to wait until tomorrow !! how unlucky lol

  • @iNemoHD awww devastated, yeah it is an exciting phone i booked the week off lol
