  • SFA is one of my fav bands!! Original and not mainstream (at least not in the states). I love how this starts as a candy-sweet melody and then unexpectedly turns badass at 3:30 in... This is why I love them.

  • hey on what part did they record paul mccarntney chewing vegetables im not kidding :)

  • @kramerspadowskiki

It starts at 2:07 - you can hear a really clear squelch at 2:14...

  • @browningbroadcasts awesome thanks haha

  • dont go chewing in bed

  • SFA OK!

  • Completamente chapado!

  • Guys - Check out Kidda 's video for Smile

if you like animation, you might like it.

similar kind of vibe to SFA but a little more peacful and poppy. quickly becoming the soundtrack to my summer!! hope you like his albim :D

  • SFA OK!

Sorry if I'm a subtle as a nailbomb to the head...

  • I can't stop listening to this song! And what a wonderfully trippy video too - thanks for uploading, mate.

  • do you have the vid for run christian run? off of the same dvd....hope so

  • This IS the absolute bollocks (great if your thick)The SFA are what The Beatles 'could' have sounded like in this era. Kings Of Leon, The Enemy (to name but a few!) are like listening to a fucking headache compared to The Welsh Cosmic Funksters.

  • @BravoStuZero They always reminded me of ELO quite a deal more, but after all, people also used to think ELO is what the Beatles could have sounded like... in the seventies.

  • "Like a nail bomb in the head, you came to me in Peace and left me in Pieces"

  • Paul McCartney's vegetable playing is the best thing about this

  • Ending is a bummer.....

  • how can you dislike this!!!!

  • great song

  • i absolutely love this music video. XD

  • pete fowler's amazing

  • you came to me in peace and left me in pieces...

  • an absolutely amazing track, genius.

  • ending is Einfach Klasse.

  • Pop melody is making a comeback, less rap dominations.

  • This is so strange.

  • they played snippets of this video at their DC concert! i liked it enough that i came here to see the rest. i don't think the video's bad at all. it's kind of endearing for me.

  • This song and Slow Life are two of the best songs ever written/recorded.

  • i'm down with that.

  • Great work- I love this band. I kept thinking the poppy 1st section wd come back but it didn't. It just got darker and trippier- then that ending- wow!

  • this video is like a psychedelic 90's computer game with a quality soundtrack

  • sooooooooooooo good

  • a bit boring video for such an amazing song:(

  • no it is the best music video ever made

  • I suppose you could make a better video

  • The last bit is great - scary

  • why?

  • Si los Beatles existieran hoy en día firmarían un TEMAZO como éste. ¿De verdad que McCartney está en los coros?

  • Woah......this makes Yellow Submarine look like a cakewalk.

    Whatever that means....haha.

    Peace everybody.

    JB

  • i keep coming back to watch this video. that colour effect/transformation at the end blows my mind :O

  • fuckin tune!!!

  • all my favourite music artists are WELSH!

  • stereophonics FTW! ;D

  • Manic Street Preachers FTW!!

  • lol thats funny but i really do think SFA blow the rest of them away. charlotte church possible exception :P

  • Whoa, the ending was so trippy!

  • funny that people get a beatles influence. Its actually paul mcartney on backing vocals( "it took some time to get over" etc...). So I almost think they wrote it with some sort of homage to the beatles in mind, with the multiple stages of the song, experimental ending. Regardless, its nothing short of amazing. Nothing better than sir paul chanelling satan at the end there:)

  • One of the tracks from the album, "Receptacle For the Respectable" featured Paul McCartney on "carrot and celery rhythm track" (a homage to his performance on the Beach Boys' "Vegetables!!!

  • that bit with the forrest and gate is timeless! :) so bloody good

  • clearly infuenced by the beatles, musically and visually.

  • You say that like it's a bad thing....

  • i think its a good thing.

  • we are all influenced by something!! even the "amazing" beatles.

  • here here!

  • Well what do you expect, these guys were one of the many BritPop bands in the mid 90s, they were ALL influenced by the Beatles. At leasr SFA does more with that Beatles sounds than some britpop bands did .

  • cool

  • WOW! Amazing! I Love this video...Especially the last minute, just works!

  • Oh the memories....

  • The ending is truly ridiculous too, in a brilliant way

  • In terms of experimentation sfa are more like sgt pepper era Beatles or early Pink Floyd !

  • amazing song, it starts very happily and ends with kinda "dark feel", in lack of a better term.

  • seen them a few times now and no-one (except prince and possibly the flaming lips) comes close. one of the only truly 'brilliant' bands around at the moment. In 30 years they're be remembered as real visionaries, even if the general public now hasnt latched onto them.

    SFA OK!

  • They remind me of The Kinks. Not in a direct way, as in being influenced by, but more that they are the modern equivalent of The Kinks... a similar vibe, irreverent, wicked sense of humor and overall ambitious and genius pop songcraft abilities.

Plus it doesn't hurt that Gruff actually kind of looks a bit like Ray Davies at times!

    SFA OK!!!

  • agree with that. the kinks definatly had a certain sunniness and playfulness within their melodies and like the furries created their own somewhat psychedelic vision of the world.

Its sad that so few bands seem willing to step beyond the drudgery and actually write proper pop songs with a bit of imagination.

  • SFA put allot of the fertilizer about at the moment to shame.

  • @vinunleaded well said good Sir. The Super Furry Animals are planned to be the soundtrack to a brand new (and by all accounts the best comedy on TV since Alan Partidge and The Office) Mock-umentary that C4,Sky and the Beeb are desperate to sign up . I've heard its working title is PROJECT X: The great British guide to the Universe.I have insider knowledge of it, and the author is a complete SFA addict, and has insisrted that a few SFA tracks are present in each episode.

  • @AmmonRa801 have also though this dude. He well looks like ray davies and equally good at songwriting. reu!

  • This song live I think trumps the studio version. Which is saying a lot, since the studio version is fantastic.

  • I totally agree. I was blown away when I first heard Presidential Suit and Receptacle For The Respectable! Perfect examples of how great music practically goes unnoticed.

  • yup............damn shame innit

  • The album did fairly well when it was released. Not surprising for two reasons. 1. The amount of dosh I expect SONY put into hyping it when it came out. 2. It's their most polished and accessible work to date. Whether or not it's their best is debatable. It's my personal favourite, but I expect my pop sensibilities have more to do with that than anything.

  • @jacktaylor123 You should see Air.

  • this reminds me of england beatin germany 5-1 heady days rings around the world fine album

  • i am sure the super furries didn't intend for that.

  • Best Band Ever ,seen

     them in Liverpool Awesome Live!!!

  • This song sounds incredible alive!!! I just already saw them this past sunday play at Barcelona, and they are the best musicians!!!

If you have chance to see them play, don*t miss them!!! :)

  • amazing song
