  • pete bad lead guitarrist? jajaaj

  • i had gay sex with pete back in the 80's. he's one hot ass

  • This is the most bad ass clip of the Who in their prime. at the 4:00 mark Pete goes into another dimension. Nobody can touch the Who live.

  • The greatest live band ever at the peak of they're power and what fuckin power they had! Amazing band 4 people who on stage where so good they blow every person at the gigs mind i seen them on face dances tour so no moon but still the best iv ever seen

  • Isn't this clip also on the Kids Are Alright? And I do mean the real movie by that title. Not some phony crap that came out a couple years ago.

  • @Planktontwo Not as far as I know. I have The Kids Are Alright on Blu Ray and don't recall seeing this. They do have Young Man Blues leading into My Generation Blues on that however IIRC.

  • 1:25 :O

  • When Moon was in shape . . by God

  • Unless John was there, the band would have probably flown away.....he had to anchor them...

  • Wot!!? 11 dislikes? Are you kidding ? Why? You must stop letting mentally retarded people on here!

Still the most awesome live band in history, bar none....

  • You ever see Zeppelin on stage? not to compare to the Who...but I saw them both...very different bands..but easily the most powerful bands ever.....except for Jimi of course...anyway...one of the most interesting things was, that after Keith died, you can see Peter still looked for him, while he was playing...and it was Kenney...and it just wasn't the same...Kenney did the best job he could...but he wasn't Keith....Roger talks about this in the documentary on the Who....

  • @chunter5100 Thats so cool.

One of the most interesting things was, that after Jimi died, you could see many looking lfor him. Jesus talks about this in the 911 commission report.

  • The most thrilling moment in Rock

  • I'm a straight guy who would suck cock to be as good as Entwislte. Call me fucked up, I don't fucking give a shit!!!!!!!

  • I have this on DVD. FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

  • Full tilt into the wind. They make me want to live me life like that when I hear them play.

  • 0:10-0:17 - Does anyone know what kind of rudiment Keith is doing? Like a triplet etc?

  • @1989PinballWizard Hes pulling a Keith Moon

  • good point, tht really adds to the discussion.

  • lets keep in mind that jonesy and bonham of zep were the best rhythm section ever but these guys had a cool thing. like helter skelter says though, not quite a traditional rhythm section.

  • @lenny3330 let's keep in mind that you are entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong it is.

  • Back when music was actually good and required talent.... GO WHO!

  • Mindblowing! I love how Pete's having so much fun just smashing one E on top of another.

  • 最高→4:45~

  • I have given it a fair bit of thought & have come to the conclusion that The Who, at their peak, were the best live act ever. They work so well together. Entwistle doing so much with his bass guitar - filling in the gaps, making his bass sound like other instruments, doing all kinds of complicated stuff, etc. Keith playing the flippin' drums like it is his last day on earth. Pete kicking serious butt. Roger giving 150%. B l o o d y H e l l!!! :-) :-O

  • @entwistle4ever You should check out the performance at Tanglewood in 1970. I think it was their last gig in 1970, and the last one featuring Tommy in its entirety. Townshend has said it was the best gig they ever did. It's on a playlist here somewhere. Give it a search.

  • Live At Leeds is freakin' unbelievable.

  • If only there was a video of the Leeds version. God is that smokin'.

  • Jason Swartchsman looks a bit like Keith...

  • one of the greatest ever live performances, along with live at leeds. this track is the who at their best. they all shine here. awesome.

  • to pete townshend, my body is ready.

  • Class "This is how it's done 101"

  • AAAAARGH!!!

  • Wow, just wow!

  • @TheStotter69 No one in the US compares Kiss, Crue or G&R to the Who. Ignorant fuck. Just be glad the US was stupid enough to save ya from Germany all those years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @ridgeback69z Don,t talk fucking shit man, Britain had stood alone in the war for three years before US entered. Much as I admire what the Americans contributed in the war, don,t go blowing things out of proportion,

  • @TheStotter69 Its cool. The Who is icon. Im sure most in the US agree. Take care.

  • @ridgeback69z You also my friend.

  • KEITH MOONNNNNN!!!

  • Johnny it's unbelievable

  • John Entwistle is the only thing keeping this band from leaving the ground and flying!

  • WHO are the beatles....WHO are the stones???

  • @Alexandernero666 they are truly amazing and pure genius... but to me, nothing's like THE WHO! they completely changed my life :)

  • The Who are my inspiration and makes me happy.

  • they kick ass - always

  • Thanks a lot! Great video.Hanno illuminato la via del Rock.

  • Pushing the limits, Setting the standard and Raising the bar. The Who - The Best. Incredible performance.

  • this is Rock kids. Pure 100% hoopyfried real rock. This is what WE are misssing today. Rock is heart and soul and today's music doesn't have it

  • Entwistle is the biggest boss I've ever seen

  • Nie no.. nie wierze że nie ma tu Polaków ;D

  • @SuperMoniquele są są, tylko się nie ujawniają :P

    Entwistle is my master!

  • Greatest "band" ever. 4 Lead musicians. Awesome, just awesome.

  • Man, listen to that bass. Entwistle is the man.

  • I love Moon's no hi-hat set up! He's got such balls!!!

  • Both the audio and the video are great. Thanks for sharing!

  • My favorite rock band ......period!

  • The Who adapted this Mose Allison jazz song, and THE BRIGHT LIGHT SOCIAL HOUR perfected that adaptation. Look it up.

  • and ladies and gentelemen thats how you fucking rock and roll!!

  • thats fuk epic holy moses!

  • pete townsed just ridiculous on guitar wow

  • wow fuck badass !!

  • this is how fucking rock and roll is done!! all you bands pay attention to this!!

  • THE WHO in their prime...Greatest band EVER!!

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Rock and Roll.

  • Simple guitar but good, some people think you have touch one thousand notes per second to be a good guitar

  • @wxbeavis men pete is incredible....are u listen the naked eye solo in this festival? pete os just rock and roll in a man

  • Keith Moon makes me feel good man!!

  • in comparison, Led Zeppelin can't seem to get the lead out.

  • Keith Moon. 1:24. Brilliant.

  • "i'll just keep standing here, waiting for the end so i can rest. oh, what? play this bass like a fucking god? no, really, is very boring..."

  • Any one else notice roger has 2 mics?

  • @GeorgeTheEpicWinner

    one for singing

the other to throw it all around the stage

  • I love John. And his expression is priceless.

  • haha i love how entwistle just stands there the entire time

  • @TheYontartu lol yeh, he just stands there being the best bass player ever.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheYontartu Well now he was not hired as a stage dancer was he? Besides it was safer to stay clear of Pete, no? Doesn't sound like Pete was on for this one, never gets it together. Too much blow and brandy perhaps?

  • Only Pete could make a janitor outfit look fucking awesome.

  • i think pete ivented punk

  • @juan13579run He DID!! The punks of 70's London looked upon Townshend as a god of the punk movement. There is a famous picture of Pete handing a guitar over to Strummer of the Clash in a symbolic switch of generations. The Who also did early heavy metal, trance rock, awesome noise/feedback, as well as the only ones to make auto-destruction REALLY cool. Like Pete said, the Who were just "basic Shepherds Bush style entertainment."

  • Keith Moon Gave Zeppelin their Name. When Asked What He Thought About The Band He Said They'd Take Off Like A Lead Balloon

  • this kids is rock n roll...

  • I think Flea has seen this before, I recall seeing him wearing a "bones" outfit in concert, must be a huge Entwistle fan.

  • Tommy!!!!

  • This is rock and roll at it's best!!

The freakin' Who.....Pete, Roger, John and Keith at their best.......

  • Heroin is amazing shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • OMG! This is pure ROCK!

  • pause it on 24 to 26 secs....this is where you really see THE MAN of rock n roll that is still the most relevant being in rock to this very day..... all others that followed are just that...followers...

  • CAUTION -- THIS SONG IS THE EQUIVALENCE OF 49 ORGASMS!!!

  • @OldEarthChaos Dinosaur Holocaust is the equivalent of 49 diaharetic orgasms!

  • whatjust happened to youtube?

  • drum bashing cymbal smashing guitar twanging awesomeness

  • ONE WORD - AWESOME!

  • 0:13 shit... for one moment there....Robert Plant .____.

  • @Dyyn123 Fell asleep did ya.

  • Let's all raise a glass to the great Bobby Pridden. He's the fifth member of the 'oo. Here's to you, Ben Pump!!

  • the who was cool no need sayin ,rock --not much blues mixed in thats what makes them different super group-- godamn lovem fux en aye

  • who play it? THE WHO! , THE WHO? , THE WHO!! WHO ? THE WHOOOOOOOO!!!

THIS BAND IS AMAZING,GOOD ROCK N ROLL

  • Keith Moon don't need no damn hi-hat

  • good old rock! Tommy è il mio preferito... con my generation ho ballato fino a svenire.

  • YES ! What a classic. Still gives me goosebumps !

  • peccato che gruppi rock così nn esistono più...nessuno è stato in grado di fare meglio de The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, The Beatles... rock is dead

  • 凄いライブだ・・・もうちょっと楽曲に恵まれてれば日本でも人気が出たんだろうな。

    ライブ・パフォーマンスはツェッペリンに全然負けてない。

  • This is why I am a multi-instrumentalist.

  • Pete makes feedback an art unto itself!! GO PETE GO!!!

  • killer riff and killer solo....

  • My dog was starting at my laptop the whole time this song was on- tilting her head from side to side with extreme interest. She usually doesn't give a shit about any sound coming out of the tv/computer I guess this song speaks to her animal instincts

  • @melophobe originale la tua supposizione e probabilmente non sbagliata, che gli who prendono nel profondo degli istinti animaleschi, se lo è per noi umani può esserlo ancora di più per gli animali che agiscono solo per istinto.

    The Who una musica Bestiale.

  • The Ox's baseline is bloody ripper!

  • 8 ppl have gherkins up their arses

  • that was tight

  • GREATEST singer, guitarist, bassist, and drummer that ever lived. How can a band get any better? Greatest band ever, easily.

  • @DBJetsman hai perfettamente ragione, un'esplosione di energia!!!

  • @DBJetsman I concur wholeheartedly!!

  • @DBJetsman The best rhythm section EVER! Moon and Entwistle.

  • @helterskelter1178 Rhythm section? That's really funny. This is The Who. John played lead. Pete was the the rhythm section. Keith played off of what Roger, John and Pete were doing.

  • Comment removed

  • Tonshend > everyone

  • 8 people are old and rich.

  • wonder why keith pointed at his kick drum?

  • @angelacevedo2112

Because he's just realized he's busted the skin during the third song of the set!!!

  • @angelacevedo2112 Probably he wanted the volume up on the kick.

  • @TheAdventuresofAaron i dont think it would make a diffrence being as there were no monitors back then i think i fucked his pedal up but i guess i will never know

  • @angelacevedo2112 They still had roadies with soundboards.

  • Amazing.

Interesting that young men today still feel exactly the same towards the older generation that The Who are now a part of. Has nothing changed? Or were the 60s/70s generation a load of whiney brats? Or is this one? Or is it that just everyone likes a moan?

  • 5 people didn't pay to get in

  • @crazydudekorf07 (to them, no to you) SMILE, YOU ALL BEGGARS! PRETEND IT`S CHRISTMAS

  • Classic, Incredible, Sublime....WHAT MORE CAN I SAY?!

    IT'S THE WHO!!!!

  • Holding and cuddling sweet, beautiful Roger at that time would've been a real trip! Just imagine the heat from his body having just got off the stage, You're running your hands through those gorgeous curls, they're cushioning your face, you smell them... a totally Whogasmic experience.

  • @SnugglySara I have good news for you: he is still in a very good shape. Look for the tape "Foo Fighters `Young Man Blues (The Who) " (Consider that he is 67 and 8 months now). So there is still time to try! Just pay to get in and use or loose it

  • @fontanalu He sure is. I met him a few times, he looks better than ever! Gives the best hugs, too!

  • @SnugglySara I`ve just seen your picture with him. And your blog (and profile). Congratulations! I am happy for you. Keep in touch

  • Entwhistle was always the guy in the shadows.

  • @mrsolofeo I think he was more of the guy who was usually relaxed, when the Who performed 'My Generation' in the Smothers Brothers Comedy show (I think that's the name of it), Entwistle performed an amazing bass solo, but he played it like it was shooting fish in a barrel. That's how I view him, not really a shadow-guy, just relaxed.

  • @AntarcticAnt Yeah, Entwhistle was pretty much the anchor--keeping The Who grounded while Moon and Townsend did their thing; otherwise they'd be going airborne, quite seriously.

  • @mrsolofeo Entwistle was a great part of the band, it wouldn't have been the same without the thunderfingers.

  • @AntarcticAnt He always seems being in another world. And he is indeed from another world. Nobody in this Earth plays like him.

  • @fontanalu I definitely agree.

  • The most ferocious live band in 60's rock. Keith, ....just brings it!

  • The most ferocious live band in 60's rock.

  • Love this performance. Whatta band.

  • This my friends is what happens when Drums,Bass and Guitar are all playing lead at the same time. None greater

  • @DUDEplayer69

    Touche.

  • Most serious guitar players I know got the bug and just HAD to learn to play from hearing Pete and the boys do "Young Man Blues" from the Live at Leeds album. Every band dreams of doing that ONE gig where they can approach the level of The Who. They will never be equaled, much less surpassed.

  • Perfect as a Wall Street protester's hymn.

  • I LOVE READING ALL THE COMPLIMENTS TOWARDS THE WHO. IT MAKES ME REALISE THAT I DIDN'T WASTE THE PAST 40 YEARS LISTENING TO AN AWESOME BAND

  • I'm a young man, and I ain't got nothin' in the world.

  • this is so ffffffffuuuuu****** good!

  • How is it that the world has passed from this to Lady Gaga?!

  • Saw the foofighters do this live, they do The Who proud!

  • Now this is what live shows should still be like.

  • @beepyou34 true mate but remember this is the best of the best. This is The glorious Who in its pomp. The greatest ever live band at its pinnacle. This is unequalled, unequalable. This after all is The Who.

  • I love watching the Who live. Entwistle just stands there and watches Moon, Moon watches Townshend, and Townshend watches Moon, just to see what each of them is going to do next.

  • Moon is the BEST...Packit

  • Would you say that this is power metal?

  • All rock bands since wish they could be like The Who!

  • no wonder they can't hear, look at that stack! listen to that screaming SG, LISTEN TO THAT EPIC ROARING BASS!!

  • @abt7217tc OMG, I think you nailed it--Pete is nearly deaf now.

  • You have to admit it--Rodger had one of the best live voices in rock!
