  • I remember seeing these ads on the TV, in sequence, one day at a time. They worked on my mind like no other. They were so well-conceived, by day four you felt you associated with both families. Obviously, you knew what was coming - but that didn't make it any less-shocking when it happened. I cried when I saw it on TV and it haunted me for ages afterwards. Brilliant marketing. Thanks for posting Wuzz. x

  • @RoonJazz I was quite young (13? 14?) when this one was on. I was scared and also fascinated by road safety ads and it seems to have continued into adulthood.

  • The way she flies over the windscreen is fucking funny!

  • Inspriational stuff, I'm going to play GTA4

  • ur a naughty boy

  • Wow, I never knew your head could go flying off after you get hit by a car...hmm ya learn something every day from British entertainment!

  • and shes lost a arm on the floor

  • It's her bag with all of her things in.

  • ive just been watching your other videoes when i got this but i do think her head has fallen off

  • did her arm and leg come off because in the air her arm is off but on the floor shes lost her head and when was this made?

  • First shown in 1999 in the UK.

  • Soon after the "Safety on the move" campaign was finished in 1997, prior to the Think! campaign

  • Isn't this a bit misleading? If she'd crossed the road at her usual time, he would have got away with it again. It's only because she returned to the house that she was a little bit later and got run over. The BBC article is also misleading. "Teenager?" The victim looks about 30.

    Great campaign, though.

  • LOL the way she flew through the air was funny

  • Not a very good tag line, 'Today he did not' would of finished it much better.

    Otherwise, good viral ad.

  • I agree the tagline is a little shit. However, this isn't a viral advert. This was an actual TV campaign from around about 199... oh I don't know. 1996? 1997? Applemask, help me out here! :)

  • Well I know its not a commercial advert, but its still an advert, they are advertising something - safety, so in a way its still a viral ad! ;)

  • Bah! You and your semantics :-)

  • It was about 1999-2001, can't remember an exact time.

  • CountBlah wins. A quick search on Google reveals the BBC News story that reported on this ad campaign. news dot bbc dot co dot uk / 1 / hi / uk /263221 dot stm - apologies for the URL format but blame youtube for that one.

  • Yeah. Unemotional little bastard! :(

  • I love this series. Proto-viral marketing.

  • scared shit out of me when this was out! just probably the shock of how high she went over the bonnet!

  • All good things come to an end.
