will this be a good street shooter whit the 20mm f1.7? ... i mean do you think people would look at ti as a big expensive slr or a more nooby camera .... should i get this or the e-p3 for street shooting ?
Love reviews. Just one question. I am thinking about buying a slr/dslr. I want take photos at matches and such so the timing is the issue. I want to know how to find out how fast a camera can take the photo from the time i press the button. What should i look out for? and do you think the lumix g2 is a good buy?
@paudie200 We list shutter delay test findings in our reviews, and generally micro-four-thirds cameras are fast in this regard. However, for taking a series of shots - at a sports event, for example - they're not as fast as a DSLR tends to be, though they are faster than most compact cameras. Mistake in the video, he says the GF1 can capture FULL HD video, but it can't. He means the G*H*1 (GH1) which costs a lot more than the G1/G2 anyway.
I also agree with govpavlicek that the g1/2 are in no way 'redundant' they are actually the sweet spot, plenty small enough to not stand out 'too much' but with enough size to allow the extra features that are NOT in the otherwise very nice GF1. swivel screen, viewfinder and cheaper (RRP) price + even better quality than GF1 (v2 engine) = WIN!
I have used the small Canon APS-C DSLR 1000D and then the G1 which I still have. The difference is bigger than you might think based on the figures like weight and size. It is just a much nicer cam which you can walk around with for hours on end. I am very happy with the G1.
The GF1 lacks a viewfinder and an articulating screen. It is more pocketable, but I prefer my G1. I think the G2 is not redundant and the G10..depends on the price.

also the G2 ISO is better than the GF1 - also do a comparison on snapsort website
G2 is a great camera and I'll be 'upgrading' asap - BLUE version please. I'm sick of black now.

Awesome video.
Though I don't see a point in the G series. It's still not small enough to be pocketable, it's not quite big enough to delivery DSLR quality either.
Also, Panasonic's own GF1 makes the G1/2 somewhat redundant.
