Ive never heard this album.I like it.I didn't know it existed.Im not a big tony martin era fan.I didnt care for headless cross. But I like this album.Loooked up all tracks from it and saved it to my favorites
@BlackCrowMusic .i disagree,,i love all of the black sabbath albums every vocalist included, but to me the tony martin stuff was more Christian sounding and in a way uplifting...just sayin..they were the best in my mind also..i was a bit of a satanist in the 80s..stupid fad
I'm a Tony Martin fan. His voice is just as awesome as any other BS singer. They should rejoin before something happens. I'd pay a lot of money to hear this masterpiece live.
amazing song i love it. better than ozzy even though yes he started sabbath but tony martin is a better singer and the songs are better. though when death calls and devil and daughter are for me the meaning of sabbath in the 80's
really good song, awesome solo by mr. Iommi, great singing by Tony Martin, terrific drumming from Cozy Powell and Geezer's stellar bass playing. What more can be needed?
@Olegstuff21986 Geezer was not in Black Sabbath when they recorded TYR. Neil Murray played bass on it. But I agree with everything else you said. TYR is one of my favorite Sabbath albums to this day.
@BlackCrowMusic haha yea right more evil than Black sabbath (the track), i think not, no black sabbath songs match the darkness intensity or blues that exist in Black Sabbath and Paranoid (albulms) and while tony remains a genius there is no comparrison to very early sabbath. not to dis later stuff, (its not bad) but it doesnt hold a candle
These Tony Martin albums are pure genius, ozzy osbourne sucked ass for one, his crazy train / iron man songs are heard way too much, which make them really boring.
youve got to be joking, and just because a songs overplayed doesnt make it bad. Im sure you could play the greatest song ever and if ye played it 200 times over and over ye wud get bored of that too
dude without ozzy there wuddnt have been sabbath....and without sabbath there wuddnt hav been an ozzy! to me ozzy sings more from the heart than tony martin which makes him a better singer...this song is still great!!! but u gotta respect the classics!
Well....you gotta kinda take in the fact that...If Ozzy was never in Black Sabbath and fired in 79....Dio and Martin would be out of a job...some one else would be singing in Black Sabbath......and who knows if they would have had their name that....it would have stayed Polka Tulk or changed to Howdy-Ho or somthing crazy....and Metal would have never really been truely been invented! Think about it!
In Ronnie James Dio defese, he had been at it for many years. He started making some noise with Elf (not metal) and then of course Rainbow. By the time Ronnie joined the Sabbs, he had been a singer for over twenty years, hell Ronnie James Dio recorded a 45 RPM before the Beatles so go figure. 1958 was the year Ronnie did his very first recording, Ozzy was a 9 year old kid then.
You probably already know this, but the lyrics of this song were inspired by the building of St Basil's cathedral ion Moscow. After the cathedral was finished, Peter the great (I think) ordered that the monks responsible for the designing of St Basil's to be blinded. Hence the line "for the work that you've done, you will pay with your eyes".
i wanna this voice in me ....

@FjodorP yeah Black Sabbath will always be the song that defines the band, although that could just be because of the title lmao.
mikexlong 1 year ago
@BlackCrowMusic nah, Sabbath sounded the darkest and evilest when Ozzy sang and Geezer wrote the lyrics, especially on the early albums.

I agree with you, Black Sabbath made some great albums with Martin. But the darkest black sabbath album would have to be dehumanizer with dio
orgasmtron 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Never!!! The darkest Black Sabbath album is only between Born Again and Headless Cross (yes, with Guillan and Martin). Dehumanizer is a poor album.

Well what you consider dark and what I can consider dark is obviously two seperate things

Try actually listening to the albums and not saying the songs suck just because Ozzy isnt singing them. Your life will be changed.

It's Ivan IV the Terrible, not Peter the Great.
And the song is probably the best off that album, contrarily to what the uploader stated ;).
