this was funnier than the national anthem debacle....I can see him fuckin' up the Nat'l anthem...he's not a singer, but how in the world does a world class athlete throw a baseball like that? Thats damn near impossible...
"greatest athlete of the 20th century" hardly the man can't even throw a baseball.. Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete of the 20th century, no debate Bo was a All-star is two professional sports.
@TyphoonALX32 - Bo Jackson? Please....he may have been exciting to watch, and had a great deal of nautural talent but a guy who batted .250 with a lifetime .309 OBP, and nearly 900 career strikeouts while never rushing for 1,000 yards in season of football was hardly the greatest athlete of the 20th century, even if he did play two pro sports. If had play two pro sports...
Nobody else has played football and baseball as well as Bo. Also, he was young before his career took off. He had the numbers and tools to be the greatest, but it wasn't to be. Bo Jackson, for sure, is one of the greatest athletes of all time. To date, nobody has played in both sports All Star games.
@SeanOMatic - Two words for ya - Deion Sanders, the only man to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. All-star games are little more than popularity contests. Yes, Bo was a great athlete, and had he not gotten injured he might have been one of the greatest of all-time, but because his career was so short he can hardly be called the greatest athlete of the 20th century, that would STILL probably be Jim Thorpe.
Deion is one of the greatest athletes of all time, as well. So is Bo Jackson. I don't think Bo is the GREATEST, but he was a really good running back. He never ran more than 1,000 because he was a backup and played part time. He averaged 5.4 YPC for his career, which is pretty damn solid. Deion had more overall success, but he also was able to play for a lot longer.
@SeanOMatic - I agree that Jackson was a great running back and was a pretty exciting baseball player, all I'm saying is that to call him the greatest athlete of the 20th century is a HUGE overstatement.
Between this and his national anthem, Carl Lewis has brought himself down a few notches.

Here is a great example. If you take anyone out of their comfort zone, they can be just about as awkward as any one of us.
Be it Lewis, Jordan, Ali....

Tough to throw a ball with a limp wrist. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

This gives hope to all of us. Just because you don't excell at one athletic endeavor doesn't mean you can't be world class in something else.
