@Serpent1991 "Am Universum" from 2001, though the version of that track is slightly different than the one posted above on youtube, you can find this track posted above on a compilation best of album called "Chapters" from 2003. So basically any year previous to that I like Amorphis's work.

@anderworld Am Universum. But this is (in my opinion) the strongest song on the album. I'm so happy that Joutsen also sings this song live although it's so different from the newer and the real old ones and has nothing with Kalevala to do... I did not like Koskinen much as person, but he has a killer voice and he did write cool lyrics. Check out his own band Ajattara as well if you dig his voice.

I hope we're just having a misunderstanding due to the nature of communicating through text... As to "modern metal" not resembling Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden... that's not entirely true - sure, the extreme genres may be more popular these days, but the doom and heavy genres are still alive and kicking.
