No, this was only when their first album came out.. maybe even before it came out. Well, it was 1999. They only REALLY started getting recognition in around 2001. When White Blood Cells came out. :)

This song is the first single the White Stripes recorded. Back before they had a record deal. Dave Buick recorded them in Jack's front room and it was pressed on 2-color vinyl (red and white) with a george washington quote on it. The single was backed by Look Me Over Closely which was written by Terry Gilkson and Mitch Miller.
