  • want to sale,,,lvl 60 ret pally for 30$ email at jeelord_barcemo02@yahoo.com

  • When trying to determine block do you simply just add the block % and the % seen when placing the mouse over mastery?

  • @massacre0520

There is block chance and block amount. Your block chance is what is says on the info plane. Your block amount is always a base of 30%. 31% with the 1% increase from the meta gem. Also (WIth 4.2) the block AMOUNT goes up to 50% when Holy Shield is activated. If u are talking about your block % vs your mastery rating, for every 79.5 points (From your gear) you put into mastery you will get 1% chance to block. Hope this helps. If not let me know.

  • @TheFailtankadin haha thanks, over the 4 weeks I found out all this stuff xD Too bad they made it a cd for 20% block otherwise I'd already easily hit the 102.4%. Hovering around 96% now and more FL gear should surely get that up.

  • I have found this set of videos to be very interesting and above all educational. Will recommend this to anyone, specially those like me who are new to Paladin Tanking.

    Grats on a GREAT guide!

According to AskMrRobot It is the best in slot atm for me. I know in 4.2 They are getting rid of dodge from agility, but until then... AskMrRobot bases its decisions strictly on stats, nothing else. I reforge the Haste to dodge and get 0.22% plus I get 0.50% dodge from agility (Instead of 109 Strength ~ 0.19% parry), and 0.71% to block. Since STR really only increases dmg/threat and some parry, I would rather the agility for the mitigation since threat is not an issue.

  • When you say to get rid of hit and expertise for (parry/doge/block) wont you loose threat, because the harder you hit the target the more aggro you hit ?? please respone

  • @MrAtownkid get' not hit

Dropping Hit/Expers is one of the hardest thing I had to get over with the change in 4.1. I, like you, figured I would lose massive treat-gen due to lower dps. However, remember that MOST of our threat comes from SotR, which we can spam if we miss. After following "AskMrRobot" I found that my threat significantly increased, even more so than when I was hit capped. Even with me having 1% hit and 10 expers, my threat-gen is not an issue at all.

  • @MrAtownkid

Most threat gen issues come from not getting your initial threat up fast enough. Practice on getting that initial threat up from using DP / SotR for single targets, and Inquisition / Cons for multi. Remember, we just need to have more threat than the highest dps and a little bit of a buffer. As of right now I can easily hold agro (In heroics without Misdirect or Tricks of the Trade) on dps pulling 20k. In raids, dps is sitting at about 30% of my threat, so that is not an issue.

  • @MrAtownkid

Sorry to do this in 3 posts. But to answer your question, yes generally lower dps will mean less threat, but, your dps is not the only mechanic generating threat. Remember we get things like Vengeance, that as we increase our HP we are going to increase dmg done from attack power, increasing threat. This is just one example of threat coming from your HP and not just your DPS per say. ALSO, remember that AS procs give us Holy Power now! So we are able to use SotR more often = +threat

  • @MrAtownkid

Also, use the addon "Omen" if you don't already to watch the actual threat you are producing so you can see your actual threat-gen in real time.
