I think they were confirmed as text by the writers or the actresses... I can't remember which. Either way, I'd assume so. They had a lot of on-screen kissing (comparatively), which is rare for gay couples on TV. The stuff they did with Xena and Gabrielle was and is pretty admirable. :)
