I think in some ways this story is based on a real one cause theres a real place somewhere in Washington DC, in one of those old historical houses and its actually a haunted by a boy who actually did froze to death and would not only say "I'm cold" but actually would write it on the top window upstairs (thats hard to reach outside) on times where the window got frosty or misty.

I remember where there was this eldery lady who had grandchildren or something and she was in a nurseing home and she had this music box from the boy she was suppossed to run away and marry but her father didnt like him and he stopped her from going and the boy drew a dove on the rock up on the cliff or something but he fell and died and at the end the lady died and the other dove appeared and you could see their spirits together.
