  • Fuck! i need another 8 bars, ...DONE!!!!

  • Man he's just so full of shit. Who is he to talk about recording and mixing? There are probably no records sounding worse than his own records since alchemy - that was when he decided to be full on stubborn and do the production himself. His records nowadays are so poorly recorded and mixed it's embarassing

  • Heys just weird . To much coke and Money.

  • Marshall Twinkies!!!

  • lol Id love it if I asked Yngwie a question and he replied with "good question, I dont usually get asked such good questions" It would make my year haha :D

  • This guy has always nice glasses!

  • I´ve been a fan of Yngwie for a very long time.

I love to see him playing live, and I really love the old albums, and most of the new songs. The problem is the sound, if you compare War to end all wars, Perpetual flame, angels of love, with Magnum Opus, Oddysey and Facing the animal..... Then, in my opinion - there is no doubt about it.

Even Yngwie himself has said the production of the War to end all wars album is very weak!

  • 0:57 he goes to get a cigarette in the ashtray that is not there

  • Yngwie was the best guitarist ever back in the 80s. His albums nowadays are OK but nowhere near his 80s peak. His 90s albums is great though, but not as good as the masterpieces "Rising Force", "Marching Out" and "Trilogy". Yngwie for president.

  • @NisseEricsson

    I do agree!

  • As I watch this video it occured to me thatYngwie looks like a cross between Benny Hill Archie Bunker

  • I agree with Malmsteen !

"Classic" studios are better. They take much place also.

  • the guy is still a rock star !

    amazing! fuck !

  • I love Malmsteen, the master! BUT, PLEASE MAKE THE SOUND OK AGAIN! The last cds sounds like shit :( I love the production of Facing the animal, get back to it!

  • @farbrorhard u r stupid.

  • @balebergas

@balebergas Stupid? Why? Do you honestly prefer the sound of the new Malmsteen cd´s ? I got ALL cd´s he ever has made, and I can for sure say that I like the production of Facing the animal, Magnum Opus (to mention 2 cds) more than Angels of love, and Perpetual flame.

I look forward to hear about your opinion...

  • @farbrorhard I agree, the recording, not the songs, sounded like shit. I listened to perpetual flame and Ripper Owens vocal tracks sounded like he's singing trough a piece of crap mic! What 's up with that shit?? Why have an absolute kick ass singer if his tracks sound like garbage? The drum tracks did not impress me either.

  • amazing

  • Swedish malmsteen speaking english with a swedes accent.....Love it.

    Notice the Diet Coke.......Love It!

Malmsteen being obsessed with music as always.....Love it!

This my friends is like watching beethoven, mozart, bach with a metal twist.

    Respect to Malmsteen!!!

  • Alot of people seem to hate on him cause of that one video where he shows his 200 guitars and he doesn't have them all on stands, and he lays some of them ontop of each other ... Who cares tho he seems super chill to me.

  • He seems really cool to me. I always got the impression that he was a very down to earth guy with a good sense of humor.

  • why does everyone say hes arragent and a massive ego? theres no videos wheres hes a prick??? hes really good and he knows it. so wat get over it hes better than you!

  • On Pantera's 3 vulgar videos they talk to yngwie and he walks in to the hotel with 2 chiks on his arms and they're like "Yngwie you want a donut?" and hes like "I DONT FUCKIN LIKE DONUTS" getting all pissed off at time and shit

  • i dont believe you

  • subtitulos por favor!

  • Magic City is a very good son.Very dramatic

  • the marshall cab on the left, is that the kerry king signiture???

  • Yes, I think so.

  • the cab isnt the head is though :P

  • @shuttsworth i don't mean to be an ass but...i'm sure the tattoo that is ON kerry king is ON the face of the head...just sayin' and yes it is...

  • @shuttsworth kerry king sucks hahaha a fuckin rythm guitar player yngwie kill him 10 times and i kill kerry 100 times hahaha there you got it metalheads

  • amen to that

  • him and those marshalls behind

    are amazing

  • just getting back into this guy(iam 34).he,s lost alot of that wanker ego over the years.which is cool.always been a top player.the stuff with ripper owens is fuckin massive.

  • proof that humidity affects everyone...

    where is this from??.

  • a genius of our time how lucky we are hail malmsteen

  • He does blues, classic and rock. Did for instance Mozart do anything else than his Vienna-classicism?

  • cool as fuck!

  • Yngwie is the man

  • Why should Yngwie do something different? Isn't that what all the other bands and artists are there for!?

  • exactly. I really find those reinvention-crazed idiots really irritating sometimes. Someone spent his/her whole life finding a certain way of expression, and to master that expression, and then some yoyo with no strong sense of self comes along and expects something else from that person. Please, GET YOUR OWN!

  • Yeah, Yngiwe is Yngiwe, why should he be and do something else?

  • It's called "style".

  • First off I think Yngwie is truly amazing and a musical genius. I truly love his first CD and the one with Joe Lynn Turner. I do think however he has not been able to re invent himself and make his sound evolve. His shit still sounds like re-hashed stuff from 25yrs ago. Metallica still sounds like Metallica but there songs today don't sound like songs from Kill Em All. Yngwie even says he don't listen to other music. I think that's what's missing.

  • I totally agree with you.

  • @nicoks

that & his ears are blown out...same thing w/ VH or any guitarist who plays in front of frightening loud amps for years.

  • @Chrvl88 actually, metallica sucked in the 90's cause they changed. they didnt sound anything like in the 80's and it didnt sound like them except for their newest album. after black, i think they toned it down waaaay too hard. in toher words, i rather yngwie stays the same instead of him making shit. his music is amazing to this day, cant get enough of it, peace

  • @RobertoArceCorretjer Well if that's your opinion then so be it. So your saying that because someone changes they suck? By the way, are you a musician? I am. I have been playing guitar for over 25yrs so I am speaking from a musicians point of view as well. I think as a musician I would get pretty bored trying to mimic my style from 25 yrs ago. That's why I try to evolve in my playing.

  • @Chrvl88 i am... ive been playing guitar for 3yrs now... im not saying that when someone changes their playing it ALWAYS sucks. in my opinion, i dont think metallica made the change for the better. i dont want that to happen to yngwie. i mean, he's a very great guitar player ,and im not saying that im 100% sure that he would suck, but if he does change... itd be kinda like, he'd stop being Yngwie J. Malmsteen. as for my guitar playing, i have an idea of what i wanna do but i have to work on it

  • @Chrvl88 props on keeping it up 25yrs man, thats great

  • @Chrvl88 cualquier persona que sepà apreciar la musica y entienda algo de esa se dara cuenta que no es "la misma mierda" saludos :D

  • @Chrvl88 Really? for example compare trilogy to seventh sign. Magnum opus to Facing the animal. Attack to Perpertual flame and after that you realise that every of his album has a unique sound.

  • @Chrvl88 JLT fan? im a guitarist and i played a show with Joe. we did Heaven tonight and Burn. the videos are in my favorites, you will love them! cant post the link in the comment, you know how YT is. enjoy!

  • @Chrvl88 i agree.

  • @Chrvl88 Metallica changed their style to fit in the new trends and get more money. Yngwie decided to stick with his true style, and I admire that.

  • @leopower7 I totally disagree about Metallica..Besides, I just used Metallica as an example. There are many other bands that have evolved as well. I'm not talking about changing styles, just maturing in your sound. I'm a big fan of his first 4 CD's. I have them. He seemed to mature after each one but after that I'm not a big fan of his later stuff. I did recently buy perpetual flame cause I like Ripper O. I thought the songs were decent & modern sounding but the production and mastering sucked!

  • @Chrvl88 i think that yngwie sounds like yngwie and thast good to me and all crazy yngwie fans liket that listen to him evry day buy all the albums etc

  • @Chrvl88 I may well get bashed for this, but I sort of wish Metallica did still sound like they did on KEA. Hetfield was a a better vocalist then, they had Cliff and Kirk didn't feel the need to put wah on every note. I like Yngwie for sticking true to his vision, even if he is still playing very similar to what he did in 1984.

  • yngwie is such a beast

  • I met, and shook Yngwies hand (2002 i think) when he came to a signing at Virginia Beach Guitar Center. My friend who was with me had his first ever American write up in any US magazine. Yngwie was so impressed that someone actually still had that magazine that he let us come to his show that night for free. Knowing we were huge fans, I thought that was real nice of him to let us come to the show for free.

  • Thats awesome dude.

  • wow...u have no idea how i envy u! lol

i'm kidding, but seriously...thats some fucking good shit man

  • Yngwie is the damn boss! Trust!!!

  • Fucking Genius.

  • God bless him, best rocker ever!

  • he has to "prove" his way because he is very criticized and I'm sure this bothers him. Also, he himself has said he doesn't get asked good questions very often.

  • They know hes eager to go grab a snack so they ask him silly fast ones

  • lmao :P

  • I just dunno why he always have to prove his way of being etc. I mean... correction... why do all the reporters asks the same questions over and over again ? There tons of other question just waiting to be asked, and yet they always do the same.

  • I did not film all the interview who was 30 minutes long. The questions were OK in my point of view...

  • i love yngwie

every time i see i cant help but drool

  • Malmsteen is the most metal of all the big guitar virtuosos.

I bet when he gets up in the morning he shouts FUCK YEAH into the air, eats his brekky while playing guitar, and keeps a waterproof fender in the shower...

  • hahahahah thats funy

  • yngwie is cleary a driven individual

  • If you love him or hate him , nothing stops him !

    I think he's awasome !!

  • His hands are huge!

  • Those are gods hands.

  • So is his hair=:)

  • is that a kerry king signature head in the back ? :)))))

  • yes it is.

  • people think that when someone can play faster than yngwie is better than him...that isnt the point ..to play something just because its fast..many people including myself can play faster than yngwie...its just not the same

there is a kind of spirit within the notes he playes that you cant copy...and thats innovation and thats improtant

thats the point ...not playing random notes

just because its a fast lick

he just playes music and his songs are

    beutifull...like an angel,dreaming,rising force..

  • SOOO TRUE! Theirs only ONE Yngwie, hes a UNIQUE, "one of kind" MONSTER player.

We can all just raise your glasses to OUR HERO, inspiration and influence.

Now lets all play OUR way, OUR unique style inspired by the man........from the heart :)

  • The last thing you wrote is so true... Yngwie would have never been himself if he had tried to emulate his influences. Unlike many shredders.

  • thanks buddy!

  • yngwie did try to emulate his influences thought, except his inflences were classical composers and violinists

  • ynwie's cursed from swearing with the cross on

    time for church

  • i want a marshall chair :D

  • very good interview... :D

  • you can totly hear the he's swedish! ha has that sweish accent :D god his the best!

  • i think i'm in love with yngwie. such conviction in everything he does and says. anyone who doesn't like him is just...well..missing the point.

  • Yes, you're absolutely right! Sometimes he gets crazy for things that aren't perfect enough but I fully understand him.

  • Well said.

  • coke light :D

  • thanks for uploading this awesome interview

  • awesome!!!!!!.
