Just go to the animations plugin, and "minimize effect" is a tab. You can pick what animation to use for minimizing. I chose the "magic lamp" animation, that's what you see in the video.
You will need a really big picture (bigger than your screen resolution.) Just Google "skydome pictures" or something like that.
Next, start up compizconfig settings manager, double-click on "desktop cube," and go to the "appearance" tab. Find the "skydome" pull-down menu, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
You mean how do I click-and-drag the cube? By default you click an empty part of the desktop (not covered by a window) with the mouswheel and hold the mousewheel down.

It's in the CompizConfig settings manager. Go to "Animations," then pick which animations go to which events.
