Its just that the way the director portrayed these characters-it's like this movie is the who's who of crappy actors and bad writers. But I gotta admit-Holly Vallance is hot! Holly Vallance does a superb job as Christy, she is the only actress who even remotely does the character that she's portraying justice. And Helena...why did they do that to her!? From refined grace with a slight aloofness/arrogance in the games to a bubbly, hyperactive girl, sheesh. And i definitely agree that CG should be the only way to go for video games...

As a die hard Dead Or Alive fan I was disappointed alot by this movie. I knew it was gonna suck as soon as I saw the trailer. Worst casting ever. Am I suposed to believe that that one caucasian chick with a purple wig is Ayane ?? Seriously, it all looks alot like an amature cosplay party. At least with the Mortal Kombat movie I believed that the characters on screen were the real ones from the game, but the DOA movie fails on all levels. Truly sad, rather should've done it in CGI.

But ALL video game movie should be in CGI. 1st reason is that because video games are so established visually, fans are seldom happy with the translation into live action; actors don't look like the characters, sets look cheap etc. Secondly, the storyline is usually so ridiculous that when you try to weave a live action script out of it the whole thing looks like a joke. Animating a video game movie in CG allows greater suspension of disbelief and makes the inanity more digestible.
