  • OH YES THE GREAT FUCKING ARSE BANDIT HIMSELF!!! THE FUCKING HILLS SHAFTING CUNT GLEDHILL, BOTH TOO FUCKING GOOD FOR ANYONE! STUPID HEAVELY CUNTS, BORING FUCKING UNSTREETWISE PRICKS!

  • @whoronz - How unkind - even if it's not your taste, it will be others - is it so difficult to simply say that it's not my taste?

  • Nice tunes.....beautiful instrument.....rotten organist. What a racket!!

  • eek

  • Pure Genius! No one can compare to this talented organist. I had the good fortune to hear him live in Detroit - twice - and it was a true experience. His artistry is unsurpassed,

  • This is why I held off on seeing Batman: The Dark Knight until I could experience it at the Oriental. The live sound is so much more than a microphone can capture.

  • @poplarboydavid I disagree with bmhall. I could sit and listen to the same song played by 10 different organist. The one I'm going to really enjoy and remember is the one where the organist took the song and made it his own. That's the mark of a great organist and Simon's one of the best. 10 star rating!

  • Great arrangements and a great talent! You've "got it" honey!

  • The public dont like things when they get complicated, musical arrangements for theatre organ need to stay interesting, fun, BUT simple if its to be popular.

  • This guy is fantastic. I just love to hear music played this way - with passion and great talent.

  • Simon Gledhill is one of the best theater organists in the world. Orchestral transcriptions are something he excels at.If you need proof, you need look no further than excerpts from Holst's"The Planets" on the CD "Carousel" played on the 5/80 Sanfilippo Organ. He is also one of the nicest people around.

  • What an AB-FAB mix of two great songs. Few organists could blend the two with as much panoch as Simon.

  • my favorite youtube vid

  • Remeber Dancing InThe Rain movie, singing by Gene Kelly, Donnald O'Connor and Debbies Reynolds. Greastest All Times Movies. Freud Sinus

  • I SO want to come out of the floor like that!!

  • If only they had theater organists like this in the good old days (yes, I mean what I said, I'm 77.)

    Quality always shows through!

    Wistful

  • @wistful12345 No kidding, this feller is great!

  • Simon Gledhill is one of the most talented musicians I know

There is a very nice CD of him playing the Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer in Blackpool, just brilliant.

  • I'm still grinning from ear to ear!

This artist demonstrates the vibrant life

that must have been the roaring 20s.

If anyone can bring back appreciation for these awesome instruments and this genre of music it's Gledhill.

    BRAVO!

  • His arrangements are so exquisite -- I wish more of the orchestral arranging being written today would follow more in this direction. His sense of harmony, syncopation, and overall sensitivity to playing makes him tops in my book -- and all of the playing is also cleaning executed.

    Great job, Simon!

  • I completely agree! Both the playing and the organ, to me, are always spellbinding. A very unique and wonderful combination!

  • I am one of the regular intermission organists that plays the Kimball in the Oriental on a regular basis...I can tell you, as if you couldn't tell from this video, it is a fabulous instrument, and a joy to play. No one plays it like Simon, either. He did a WONDERFUL recording on it in 2000, called "Songs In My Heart"...beautiful, beautiful sounds.

  • i agree with all! Simon is my favourite contemporary theatre organist. I would add to the list along with the previous Crawford, Wright Gledhill and TORCH. I nearly wet my pants a this video.

  • This young man is certainly a fine, fine theater organist. His arrangements are truly wonderful and the organ really sings under his fingers. Keep up the really excellent work!

  • Simon Gledhill sets the standard for entertainmkent excellence on the theatre pipe organ in the 21st century. First there was Jesse Crawford way, way back when. In 1960 I produced the first midnight concert at San Francisco's Fox Theatre with George Wright. The artistry of Simon Gledhill is as unique and as exciting as we saw that night 48 years ago.

  • What an excellent way to bring up the console of a Grand Kimball theater pipe organ. Simon is one of the theater organ greats. Five stars!
