Got mine today at Wal-Mart for 21.88 plus tax. Doesn't say 3-watts anywhere that I can find, but it IS very bright. The package DOES say 69 lumens, and shows the multi-mode switch features pretty prominently. Excellent flashlight. Good review! Thanks for posting it.
I don't think I'll ever get another incandescent bulb device, except where LEDs are not available. Microwave, fridge, etc. (I suspect they'll go LED soon enough.)
1ST GENERATION 2AA MAGLED: uses Luxeon 3 LED, no lanyard hole, only single mode(Package says 3WATT LED, MAG-LED technology)
2ND GENERATION 2AA MAGLED: uses Luxeon Rebel LED, no lanyard hole, multimode(peak, 25%, blink, S.O.S.)(identical blister pack as 3RD GEN with yellow theme, says LED FLASHLIGHT below the MINI MAGLITE HEADING)
3RD GENERATION 2AA MAGLED: uses Luxeon Rebel LED, has LANYARD HOLE, multimode(peak, 25%, blink, S.O.S.)(identical blister pack as 2ND GEN)

Why did you not show the different modes...(?)I have one Rebel mini mag multimode and I love It. (also have the new LED Lenser T7, but the maglite is more versatile)
@recurveninja thats for regular maglites LED's cost more... And this version comes with batteries but ive heard them coming without batteries so they were slightly cheaper. Generally these sell for around 18-22 dollars for LED version.
I've been buying LED flashlights for about 2 years and the Rayovac luxeon LED product has really impressed me with quality, light output (lumens) and price. It's hard to justify spending $100 for a Surefire after using the Rayovac Sportsman Extreme for almost a year now. Uses two AA batteries with 80 lumens output and has a great tactile and momentary contact switch on the back. About $30 at WalMart and Amazon, worth checking out.
I ordered a Fenix E20 from Amazon for $35. Uses two AA batteries, adjustable focus and claims to have a 109 lumens output. I also have a Rayovac Sportsmen Extreme 3 watt (80 lumens) I paid around $30 for and have owned it about 18 months.
I bought a Life Gear Highland Series, 1 watt 80 lumens Cree LED, 1AA battery, flashlight from Target. I really like it, $19, small and bright. Bought a second one yesterday.
Thanks for the shoutout! I was looking at that but a little expensive, do not get the river rock as it has horrible battery life for less lumens than the one you got here!! invest in a fenix flashlight if you can, maybe the Fenix ld10 for its uniqueness or the fenix l1d for simple stuff. but if you want cheap then stick with river rock or mag-lite. the mini-mag LED upgrade at walmart is cheap and works on like no battery power!
Needs an ON/OFF switch. Who needs S-O-S when you're trying to see something.

The turning of the head is quite confusing. They should have just made it a simple clicky button.

I just bought this light today for $16.00. Very happy with it. I didn't even know it had SOS and strobe features, until I got home.
Strobe is cool if your car breaks down, but it on the roof facing rearward, towards traffic.

I was more impressed by Pink Floyd's 'See Emily Play' playing in the background!!

You can remove the head, put the lamp into the head and use the lamp as a candle.

Maglite has just released a new generation of LED flashlights. It's much brighter.

Also check out the Rayovac 4 Watt Luxeon LED, uses 3 c cells and puts out 150 lumens of blazing white light, they run about $25
flootfly 2 years ago
That's a good price range for me. I saw some Fenix flashlights but they are pretty expensive.

Fenix are hard to get in my country (Austria).
So what would you recommend instead of Fenix?
rfvtgbzhn 2 years ago
The 3 watt LED's are amazing, I use my almost daily. Take it outside during the night and illuminate the flower garden, very trippy!
flootfly 2 years ago
Near the LED the characters "-090" are printed. I don't have a clue what that means.
