  • metalcore is actualy pretty good. i love cannibal corpse, deicide, dio, sabbath, obituary, king diamond, especially venom! but i cant deny how good SOME,.metalcore is. breakdowns are just another way to play metal. just cuz its not fast doesnt mean it sucks. i like metalcore and deathcore becuase its a different vibe then all those other bands. not that its better but its differetn and i like it. im sure chuck shuldiner would agree. ''support music not rumours'''

  • this is not metalcore $%·"&$&%&!·%/$&!!!

  • I don't know why you people hate metalcore. All it is is melodic DM with breakdowns and a few clean vocals here and there.

  • @deathblackthrashing That is one of the most incorrect statements I've ever heard. It frequently uses ridiculously low tuned guitars with annoying screaming vocals, and often palm muted riffs that all sound the same and untheoretical arpeggios. Listen whatever turns you wheels, just don't compare two totally different genres.

  • @Roughsauce Death Metal and Metalcore are absolutely related. I started getting into death metal 15+ years ago and got into metalcore in the early '00's for some of the same reasons: Musicianship, heaviness, non-singing type vocals. Fucking metal fans can be some of the biggest whiney bitches on the planet.

  • @MetalNick Sure, they're related, but one is simply a shitty spinoff of the other played by whiney 15 year olds who aren't good enough at instruments to play real music.

  • @Roughsauce It's all subjective. A superiority complex is just that...

  • @Roughsauce I think you're just a genre hater. The guitars are not tuned any lower than MDM, mostly around B. It takes MDM style riffs, and adds a hardcore vibe, breakdowns and clean choruses. They do not use untheoretical arpeggios, there is no such thing as 'not real music', and they can play their instruments just as well as MDM musicians, because the music required to play is virtually identical. There aren't any other significant differences. Metalcore is a direct descendant of MDM.

  • @deathblackthrashing no its just a shitty attempt at fusing metal and hardcore which are two seperate genres which should not be fused. it takes little or no talent to play metalcore, and it absolutely in no way a descendent of melodeath.

  • @Roughsauce Well sorry, I disagree. Let us leave it there.

  • @deathblackthrashing good idea

  • @Roughsauce Metal and hardcore do overlap, and fairly well if done correctly. Just look at the NY death metal scene. Pretty much every NYDM band has influence from either northeastern hardcore or european grindcore. Dying Fetus and Suffocation both are influenced by hardcore punk and Cannibal Corpse is influenced by Carcass style goregrind.

  • @shockofhyperbole i posted those comments a while back when i wasn't as musically voiced and variated as i am now... I understand haha.

  • @Roughsauce And pretty much any sludge metal band will have punk influence. Superjoint Ritual, High on Fire, Corrosion of Conformity, The Melvins, etc.

  • @shockofhyperbole not necessarily, but most of them will. and when i find some good crossover thrash... mmmmm..

  • @deathblackthrashing You seem to be confused on your definition of Melodic DM. In Flames is not death metal, just Iron Maiden with (shitty) death growls.

  • @jiminey6969 Melodic death metal (at least this and the IF variants) is standard death metal with Iron Maiden/Judas Priest influence. Jesper of In Flames stated that was his intention when creating IF's music. Metalcore, as I said, is MDM with added breakdowns, hardcore vibe, and clean choruses.

  • One of their best songs imo !m!

  • Another great metal upload smeared with childish fighting in the comment section. Get over yourselves douchebags.

  • @Clausfarre Thank you, finally someone who isn't bitching about other genres.

  • I can see where metalcore bands get their influence from, but of course this is way better than any metalcore band can pull off, the melodies and riffs belonged to the swedes. Stupid core bands ripped off the sound

  • @rockprogmetal gay ripped-off melodeath riffs + gay screamo vocals + gay breakdowns + gay pop punk melody chorus + gay clean vocals = the abomination that is metalcore :P

  • Love Dismember!

  • METALCORE ISNT EVEN REAL METAL!!!!!

  • @606thecliff Most Metalcore kicks ass actually. Why are you even talking about this? THIS IS DISMEMBER.

  • @606thecliff Nothings real faggot, everything is DEATH!!!!!!

  • almost sounds like metalcore.

  • @antirapmissle

you should be raped and burned for this comment ... omfg

no, seriously, thats a VERY stupid thing to say

this band along with at the gates and in flames ... and other gothenburg bands are mostly the inspiring influences of most metalcore bands.

metalcore came in the very late 90s or early first decade of 2000 .... this song was relased 1995 - the apex of the gothenburg sound

  • @grindkerensky i didn't say it was metalcore, i said it sounded like metalcore. you can see the roots of metalcore in songs like this, you said so yourself "this band along with at the gates and in flames ... and other gothenburg bands are mostly the inspiring influences of most metalcore bands" . why should i be raped and burned when it does sound like metalcore...because it fucking influenced it?

  • @antirapmissle

please read again and find the word "seriously" if you havent.

    geez i was kidding ...

  • @grindkerensky aight, now tell me why it was a stupid thing to say?

  • @antirapmissle ok, because as i said metalcore came after the gothenburg era ... so its just simply not correct, it doesnt sound like metalcore, metalcore sounds like this

    now got it ? ;P

    kkthxbye

  • @antirapmissle Melodic Metalce comes from the Melodic Death Metal of bandas like At the Gates or In Flames. But Melodic Death Metal was highly influenced by Death Metal bandas like Dismember, Entombed or Unanimated.

  • One of the best death metals songs in the history..

  • Probably the best song on the album.

  • I fully agree
