  • "you can find this in..." Im looking and looking on my windows xp machine for the wacom control panel, you mention where it is located at the beginning but argh the audio screws up there. Can you tell me where the control panel would be located?

  • @RohmundStein Go to the Control Panel and you will see "Wacom Tablet Properties" at the bottom of the screen.

Double click on it - you can change whatever you want right there.

  • @riberg thank you for the reply! What I figured out was that I could not change the orientation of the tablet, and indeed there was no mapping button, until the pen had been added as a tool! : )

  • @RohmundStein Wonderful - glad you have it resolved.

  • accept touch strip from pen only. do you know how much that is going to help me? My design will shrink away in seconds and I'll be what the heck? And then I'll see my hand is resting on the right hand side touch strip. thanks sooo much!

  • That is wonderful and I am so glad the video was helpful. Oh - and you are welcome ...!

  • why does the pressure sensitivity stop working sometimes? and now when i updated the wacom drivers it stoped working always even if i restart photoshop. and yes i know about the brush settings but its as it should be? other programs work fine.

  • Sometimes it just bugs out like that it's a photoshop problem not a wacom problem you have to hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift while clicking your photoshop icon to reset your Photoshop Preferences and then redo your brush pressure settings to fix it.

  • can i ask a question in intuos 3 can u use the touch strip to change the opacity of the brush??10 to 100 opacity?or its only for keystroke and zoom in/out and brush size and etc.

  • That is a great question - one I have never heard before!

It seems like a great idea ... however ...

It doesn't look like Photoshop has a keyboard shortcut for changing opacity and it makes sense because you can change opacity of layers as well as tools and brushes.

If you figure it out let me know! I couldn't even get the keyboard shortcut menu to let me make a new keyboard shortcut.

  • Where do you find those settings? Oo

I just got my Wacom Intuos4 tablet, A5 (two days ago) I know nothing... The lines are still just the same as when I used a mouse, do you know what to do? What do i go to, to find the... thing you're into?

  • The first thing to do is to install the drivers. You will not have pressure sensitivity without them installed.

If you are using Photoshop the brush palette is under the Windows menu.

Elements - you find a little drop down menu at the top called Tablet Options.

  • OK, thank you!

  • Do you have to install softwear into the computer when you first get the wacom tablet?

  • Yes - you have to install the drivers for your tablet.

They are included in the box or you can download them from the Wacom website.

    Rich

  • Do you have 3 Intuos pen tables installed? How is that helpful? Please post a video demonstrating use of multiple pen tablets - if that is possible.

    Puzzled !

  • Ha - you caught me! I have different needs than normal users I guess so I have installed all of them at one time or another.

The one I use the most is the 6X8 Intuos 3.

There is not an advantage to having multiples on a system but it can be done because the drivers are exactly the same for all of them.

You are the first one to notice the multiple tablets ...

  • I have Wacon Graphire4 but I couldn't use pen pressure. I don't know where to find that panel since it just lets me use it as soon as I plug it in, so why can't I use pen pressure?

    Please reply.

  • Hi there, I own an intuos and I have never used the expresskeys since I am used to using the graphire2. Informative video, nice one, I have a question though. Do you use the keyboard at all when you're using the Intuos? Can you live with only the expresskeys?

  • Using the keyboard would depend on how you work. If you use a lot of shortcuts then perhaps you will still use the keyboard for some of them.

You have 8 on tablet programmable keys and 2 on the pen for a total of 10 plus the two slide keys. I tend to switch between the Keyboard and the keys.

You don't even have to use the keys if you are really good with the keyboard. What all this means is there is no correct answer - it all depends on you!

  • Thank you for this so much!

  • You are welcome!

  • I have a question... The problem is that I passed on from PS cs to PS cs3, and I have a Wacom cintiq 21 UX. I used to have the touch strips for brush size changing, but now I can't program it on CS3... What can I do? how is the new hot key whatsoever for doing it?.

    Thanks.

  • It should work - the Cintiq is just an Intuos in a fancy LCD package. The set up screen should work exactly the same way.

If it is not then contact Wacom Cust Service about it!

  • Such a helpful clip! I have one question though, what would be the keystroke for default colors in Photoshop?

  • HI - the keystroke for the default colors (Black and White) is D (for deafault, I guess).

To change from one to the other as the foreground color hit the X key.

I hope that is what you wanted ...

    Rich

  • Yep that's it. Thank you very much! :)
