This is the first song I have ever heard from him. I first saw this video on my brothers Myspace. (before facebook was famous.) and i loved it. Of course I didn't get it because Zork is before my time. but still. I loved it anyway. I think my favorite is crime spree. it's just a really fun song. i also love i heart fags. haha
As soon as I heard this song, I went on a rampage to find the disk of Infocom games I got from my dad. I have now been playing Zork for about four hours, with MC Frontalot songs as my soundtrack.
heres how you start- North East Open window Go inside window take all go west take all move rug open trap door turn lantern on go down go north kill troll (if lucky) thats what 3 and 1/2 hours gets you-a nice memory
AppleSoft BASIC: NEW 1 HOME 10 PRINT "YOU ARE LIKELY TO BE" 20 PRINT "EATEN BY A GRUE" 30 PRINT " " 40 PRINT "IF THIS PERDICAMENT SEEMS PARTICULARLY CRUEL..." 50 PRINT " " 60 PRINT "CONSIDER WHOS FAULT IT COULD BE..." 70 PRINT "NOT A TORCH OR A MATCH" 80 PRINT "IN YOUR INVENTORY..." 90 END
*resists the inner troll* (Okay, I admit that the inner troll isn't acting up)
I'm aware that the song itself doesn't have to do with programming. What I was saying is that programming a text based game such as this with current languages is simple compared to other applications (like your web browser). Yes, I'll say it, I've made a few text based games so I know what I'm talking about when I say that most of the code is text that is displayed to the player.
The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.
All hail the Nerdcore genre! :D

There is a Grue in my basement and the light bulb went out some weeks ago. I finally got me a proper lantern, I think I can do this.

I for one think text-based games need to come back. The generic first-person-shooter has been overdone, it's time for something "new".

@bubbleheadft
No. They should remain in there own time. Maybe being re-released with extra shit and more word combo's. But not being released in full.

This song references several infocom games. Not just Zork, that just happens to be the chorus/title.
