Audi R8 BORLA R&D Sound Testing (standing still)

Must be BORLA saleman... Revving engines without a load is really bad for longevity. All of the bearings, the cams, rods etc. are designed/engineered to run at high RPM with a LOAD on the engine. Free revving is really stupid. Even dynos (with a load) are hard on engines and performed infrequently.

the BLORA exhaust has a more firce and beastly feel to it, the regular audi exhaust has more of a light and weird sound to it. a very big difference, but hey thats a good thing.

Race a zr1 against an R8 and against a Lambo, but... good luck in the corners :p all the power to your rear wheels... not gonna corner the best, sure the zr1 is loud and fast in a straight line, but I'm pretty sure turning at higher speeds is just a little important too.

@MrGingerade And it does a great job of turning at high speeds too pal, it completely destroyed the R8's time on nuburgring(18sec better than v10, and 48sec better than v8). And Top Gear, said it not only takes corners better than the R8, but it's more fun to take corners with, simply because the R8 pretty much takes the corners for you, but you need precise control of the ZR1 to take them. Calling it the "more fun" car. I'm not trashing the R8 at all, it's a great car, these are just facts.

Right, but the problem is that most people that buy a corvette aren't going to know how to drive it right :/ if someone really knows how to drive they'd be fine with the ZR1.

Yes the corvette is cheaper for the money but some people care about the interior and ride quality. Not everyones out on the track every day, some people want to do errands in this car. Different cars different purpose. Thats like me saying "the corvette sucks cause the aerial atom owns it!" again very diffrent cars and a very dirrent purpose

very deceiving video, I have no doubt that the borla would sound good, but the fact is, this video does not pick up the true sound at all. The stock 4.2ltr R8 sounds fantastic in real life, & i would not be in any hurry to change it. This vid just made it sound like a sewing machine , when in the flesh , it has a deep barking sound & a nice rumble when idling also.
