  • Somebody got put on notice!

  • There's just so many things wrong with that "fact" that I can't even list them all here...also YouTube has stupid comment restriction.

  • That "fact" that they used a real horse's head is not true, because of a few things.

It's against the law to do kill a horse and chop it's head off to use in a movie, even if the horse died of natural causes beforehand. It is also against the law to do that every other animal on the planet.

If they did do what the supposed "fact" says, the directors would be sent to jail the very same year of the film's release, if not a bit earlier, if the police found out before the production was finished.

  • @TimelessOne123 You're right, they didn't kill it just for the movie but it is real. A dog food company delivered it to him.

  • I came here to remember the guy's name...it always slips my mind for some reason.

  • How sound asleep would you have to be to not notice a couple of guys sneaking into your room in the middle of the night, take the horse head out of a bag (otherwise it'd drip blood everywhere), lift up your sheets, put the heavy (10-20kg??), bleeding horse head down by your feet, until morning?

  • @CH1CO900 same lmfao

  • Hey arnold brought me here....rofl

  • @CH1CO900 holy shit me too!

  • Unfortunately these days even the mafia's been hit by the recession. Just this morning I woke up and someone had put a Seabiscuit DVD in my bed.

  • That's an actual horse head. Crazy what directors will do to get the correct reaction, eh? (the actor was informed it would be a fake).

  • @Ryanxsx He wasn't informed. His scream was a real reaction.

  • Behold, Sarah Jessica Parker's first scene

  • @rideintosunset lmao!

  • i never watched the movie, what does a dead horse signify?

  • @nowzadick the guy in bed had rejected the request of corleone family and he had also mentioned "on the meeting day" that this horse is very valuable "600,00 $" . so they chopped the head off just to deliver their message that don corleone is not happy and also to tell him it could even get worse "next time is ur head u know!!"

  • @naderkazemi good guy greg strikes again

  • @nowzadick the mafia were making a deal with him or something & he refused to co-operate, so they murdured his VERY expensive horse

  • I do like 'The Godfather' but thats just disturbing.....

  • Interesting fact: The filmmakers used a fake horse head but the director thought it was too fake so they used a real one.

  • @BigPapaBear1000 Francis Ford Coppola snuck a real horse's head in on the day of filming to get a more authentic reaction from the actor playing John Waltz. Very Hitchcock-like of him.

  • knowing me i probably would have just not noticed the thing there and just gone back to sleep

  • 3 horses disliked this video

  • You welcome @JohnLuckPickard141 :)

  • Thank you for uploading the actual scene and not one of those shitty-ass rip-offs.

  • "So it's a shouting match you want, eh? Well game on. AHHHHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH- I'M BEATING YOU!"

  • I just read that it was an actual horse head from a factory. He didnt know it was a real head so his reaction of horror was real.

  • @drumfreek124 did you get that from OMG facts?

if so I'm here for the same reason haha

  • OMG WHY DID THEY PUT SPOONS HEAD IN THERE!!!!!

  • During rehearsals, a false horse’s head was used for the bedroom scene. For the actual shot, a real horse’s head was used, acquired from a dog-food factory. According to John Marley, his scream of horror was real as he was not informed that a real head was going to be used.

  • That does indeed look like a dead horses decapitated head, trust me, I've lived an odd life. I know what one looks like.

  • That was faker than the 9-11. Fuck you OMGFacts

  • OMGFacts brought me here too..... Damn u!!!! Guess I know the meaning of leading a horse to drink cuz I was definitely curious to find out what the hoopla was about lol

  • OMGfacts lies this is definitely fake

  • I still think it was fake, I don't care what OMGfacts said.

  • This ain't the first time he's received horse head.

  • In The Godfather (1972), John Marley (Jack Wolz) scream of horror in the horse head scene was real!

He was not told that a real horse head, which was obtained from a dog food company, was going to be used.

    -OMGFACTS

  • @ghostsshAdow234

Yeah, kinda typical for a Coppolla movie.

Remember the final scene in Apocalypse now?

Well, the water buffalo who got chopped up, was also real mate.

  • @ghostsshAdow234 thats what brought me here lmao

  • That scream of horror he gave was real! They didn't tell him it was going to be a REAL horse's head.

  • @theatre4evergirl OMGfacts :D

  • @TheWhiteOwl23 haha yeah :D right after I read that I went and looked this up :)

  • She was beautiful, she was innocent, she was the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had it all over the world. And then Johnny Fontane comes along with his olive oil voice and guinea charm and she runs off. She threw it all away just to make me look ridiculous. And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous. Now you get the hell out of here. And you tell that gumba that if he wants to try any rough stuff that I ain't no band leader. Yeah, I heard that story.

  • At least it wasn't a Wilhelm scream.

  • Doesn't sound like how you would react if you didn't know it was a real horse head. Seriously, who would sit there screaming like 6 times in a row before actually doing anything?

  • @JasonlVlraz I think the six screams are just for effect...repeated over and over again to scare the audience...

  • "During rehearsals for John's notorious horse head bedroom scene in The Godfather (1972) a fake horse's head was used. For the actual day of shooting, however, a freshly severed horse's head was used from a slaughterhouse in New Jersey. The blood, however, was not real." Source - imdb.com

  • @11Sweeneytodd OMG Facts

  • @11Sweeneytodd OMG Facts, make sure you site your sources considering many people who see that fact are going to come on here and look at the scene.

  • @FeebiDraven cite*

  • probably the creepiest part is that the horse head is real...

  • I'm going to use the screaming as a ringtone:-)

  • I wonder what the assholes at PETA have to say about this..

  • I did this to my cousin with his iPad broken in half.

  • I'm going to do this to my insurance dealer :)

  • This is probably one of my favorite scenes

  • he is using a good cleaning stuff for his sweater and so amazing fast!!

  • HI IM johnny knocksvile, and this is 'getting HEAD in the BED

  • is this ironic in some way? did that guy rig a horse race or some such nonsense?

  • @albertjester No, it's not ironic. It was simply the head of his most prized horse used to intimidate him into letting a certain actor get a part in one of his movies (he's a producer).

  • @CoolerKing37 ah, thank you.

  • That horse head was actually real O.o

  • Watchin it right now on DVD

  • the one dislike is mr. woltz

  • I named My dog Don Corleone, (Leon for short) simply for the fact that he stares at people as if he's seeing their souls. It's kinda intimidating.

  • Fun fact: The horse is real.

  • Didn't the ASPCA go after Vito after all this horseshit?

  • @Houseofthe7gayboys That's what the late, great John Belushi said when playing Vito in a SNL skit. And another piece of trivia, the late, great John Mowery, who played Woltz, didn't know it was going to be a real horse's head, so when he screams, he's not acting!

  • @leczorn A most memorable skit that to this day I haven't found it on youtube or the net....Belushi with mouth full of cotton in group therapy with Elliot Gould presiding...." Everybody is after me...the Tattaglias, the head of the five families...even the ASPCA is after me for this horse thing....."

  • @Psycho3418 - LooooL :D

  • "I'm gonna make him a offer he can't refuse"

  • i thought this was funny

  • @ApachenMe no. wait till your a bit older to fully understand whats going on.

  • he must've been a brony.

  • OH GOD NOT APPLEJACK!

  • THESE STUPID FUCKING ADS ON THE SIDE

  • He must be a real heavy sleeper!

  • that was a real scream cuz they didnt tell him they were using a real horse head

  • @mrboyman1 You mean to say he got on set, got into the bed, covered in blood and didn't see the horse head until they filmed the scene and he didn't break character when he found out it was a real horse head? I highly doubt that. Sounds like movie myth to me.

  • Real horse head, no kidding

  • the first time i saw this i seriously thought he got his dick chopped off

  • @thenjctomahawk69 I always thought it was his head(A):P

  • The title of this scene is "JOHNNY FONTANE GOT THE PART"

  • @schnellguy Also known as "Honeymoon with a horse!"

  • Its meant to ridicule and humilate Woltz and be totaly emascualting- its a display of The Godfathers almost ominpotent power- that he's a law unto himself - . Woltz thinks he's a real big shot- he would no way tell his powerful friends that some obscure Olive Oil importer- got past his security and all his staff to cut of the head of his most prized valuable possession, and stuck it in his bed. What does that say?! . So Johnny gets the part in the movie.

  • it's a real horse...damn!

  • the horse head was real so the scream was authentic cuz the actor did not know that the horse head was actually gonna be used

  • "The Godfather" was an overrated movie, but the horse made the film reel worth it

  • 1 person is from PETA

  • He does not need that mourning cup of coffee now. He's UP

  • I would scream if I see 600 000 dollars killed, too.

  • Hi horsie!

  • classic movie...

  • Would anyone else besides me shit their pants if they awoke to this situation? If so, thumbs up!

  • Mr woltz will think next time..

  • thats what the mother fucker gets!

  • Oh! So that was a horse head there!

  • do not piss of italians or the next day u wake up then you"ll find a dead animal in ur bed

  • Pokeyyyy!!!!!! AHHH! AHHHHHH! AAHHHhhhHHhhHHHH!!!!!! (look it up and you'll know what i mean)

  • Kinda weird how his reaction seems so fake despite being real...

it is more beliveable when he is acting then when he is reacting in real life.

  • that s what u get don't piss of Italians u will wake up with your prize pet dead in your bed

  • that s what u get dont piss of itallians u wll wake up with your prize pet dead in your bed

  • I read on IMDB that the horses head was real, is it? and the actor's reaction was also real?

  • @MrsRavenclawStudent And the orange blood is real too, lol!!! Grow up come on...!!!

  • @HoZeeeeeBitaraes lol, I know the blood is not, dude xD I'm just saying.... I read it on the trivia about the movie, I just wanted to know... :)

  • I would really finish the image off with the horse's spine XD

  • trust me. if this happened to me, i would've screamed like a f***in' banshee.

  • The real truth behind this scene is that they tricked the actor into using a fake horse head. That's why he screamed so terribly

  • tasty

  • Finally the real fuckin scene.

  • mmm, ketchup.

  • @BellaMafiax3 loooooooooooooooool :D

  • @BellaMafiax3 Hmm,guess again... real head,maybe real blood?

  • His scream is terrible

  • @JLGRproductions

His scream is real. The horse head in this scene is real, and was obtained from a slaughterhouse..except the crew lied and told the actor they would use a fake head, so his reaction would be more authentic.

  • how did the blood get up the bed, onto the guy, and up onto his chest??

  • @MrTerrorkiller Capillary action! The more you know!

  • @phuturephunk ahh. thanks!

  • That is how you make a point!

  • Feel bad for both the man and the horse.....it cost him like......$600,000?

  • I loved it

  • it's "have you aleready seen the movie?" and yes I have

  • how can people find this scene funny? idiots

  • @Avzzor People who probably have never seen/heard of the movie.

  • @Avzzor It's because Woltz was an arrogant and pompous PRICK!!! He was lucky it was just his HORSE'S Head that got chopped off and not something much more important to him.. Payback was a bitch. (That and the fact that Mr.Woltz was a terrible dinner host.)

  • ahhhhhhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • poor horse

  • @13Ducksonabox - LoooooL "Khartoum, Khartoum..", poor Khartoum xD
