The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) Friday on 20 Airbus A380 after new cracks were found in wing brackets.
Folks this is the most advance cockpit system, the most fuel efficient, most environmentally friendly, most lightest & yet strongest composite material composed of, most quietest, best cabin air pressure/ air purification system, and most comfortable ride for passengers in any plane ever built so far; I'm so very proud of you, Boeing Dreamliner!!!
Lets all hope Airbus does better with the A350 than they are doing with the A380. Well they are, they have already sold close to 500 A350's and it won't be delivered for years yet. They have only sold 236 A380's and that number falls far short of the nearly 1,000 aircraft they have to sell to break even. The A380 is failing miserably while the A350 is doing O K . But both planes fall short of the efficiency of the 787
You can't really compare the 2 aircraft I mean, maybe on quality of the flight but nothing special really. A real comparison would be the 747-8 and the A380 both are "Jumbo Jets"
@jdmifsud14 I think it comes down to whether or not you would like to fly in an aircraft with another 500 people or with another 200ish people. Also the interiors are different in either aircraft (although this shouldnt matter too much).
@xXShadowLugiaXx It does come down to whether or not you want to fly in a smaller jet with a modern interior design or a large jet with 500+ passengers.
@fallout3freak360 i do dislike the a380 but it is still quite weird that a plane that size (and indeed the 747-8) can still fly the same speed as the 787!
Okay. I don't know which i would want to fly. The airbus a380 has had many problems, but it's big and i like big planes. The boeing is smaller, but i like boeing more, though airbus seats are more comfortable :P. I think airbus, because it's just so freaking BIG!
@baadmaan yes its a shame with the engine problems!
i have heard that Concorde may be going under tests for taxiing in france but i am unsure about flying although it would be nice to see it for a flyover for the 2012 olympics!
and to your question, G-BOAG is in the museum of flight in seattle i believe!
The B787 is quite the new bird, the B777 is far more of a spectacle to me, the A380...I odn't see a huge need for it, and I don't like their flight laws. Nice video though!
@dnhug its simply because they are both the latest models of the two manufacturers and they have near enough the same range as each other as well and also some people may rather go in an aircraft with just over 200 people compated to over 500... i would rather go in the 787 as there are less passengers inside
@VIR092 agreed, its solid and one of the most sexy airplanes out there. (next to the 773 and the 320/340). Im proceeding slowly, but exams start June next year..
Well i don't know, i think Airbus is better because they have safer planes. But TBH, it's just a plane. As long as it doesn't crash and i can eat and watch TV, i don't care what i fly in.
@SinclairisCool well i would have no option really would i? i've been on many a320's and they are reasonably nice to fly in but i would prefer a boeing
@SinclairisCool it wont get u anywhere would it?? a long haul flight say on an a340 and u want to fly 777 or even 747, complaining wont do anything u r more than likely to spend more money in either changing airline or waiting in a local hotel for a boeing to arrive which flys to your destination
@samnoueilaty well thats debatable in many ways: the 747 has met long range, and high capacity regulations for a very long time, the hump is aerodynamic as well as the fuselage shape. ok, the 747-8i wont carry quite as much passengers as the a380 but... it can fly to a lot more airports around the world than the a380 because of how much lighter it is
Why comparing two total different aircrafts? One is a mid sized aircraft that can carry approx 300 passengers and is not considered as HEAVY and travels 8500 Nautical Miles. Where as the A380 can travel up to 8300 Nautical Miles and can carry more than 800 passengers, that is more than twice the 787. In this case, A380 is by far superior to the 787 since it can give more income than the 787. Fuel costs can be covered by the huge difference in the passengers ratio.
because they are the newest aircraft to enter service (well soon the 787 will) and they are both unique because the 787 is made of a new material and the a380 is the first FULL double decker aircraft
The A380 is also made of composite material. True, but I would compare the 787 with tha A350 and the A380 with the Newest version of B747 that they are designing the B747-800.
yes that is why the 787 and a350 are on a seperate video as is the 747 and a380 when we get the first pictures of the 747-8i then i will do a video of the 747 and the a380
@Airbusftw but the 747 400 had covered all those needs of big airplanes and covered very well the 787 is better cause its new tecnology and is quiet btw the a380 carrys about 550 passengers (sorry for my bad speloing the english is not my language ;)
@boeing787thebest The A380 can carry more than 800 passengers if the cabins are all economy class, it only carries 550 pax because the airlines decided to take a whole floor for first class and business class, which we all know 1 first class seat on an A380 involves almost a full sized bed :P.
I'm doing masters in avionics and had some studies done on both the 787 and 380 due to new integrated technology and software development and I can tell you, they are both mind blowing.
@Airbusftw There is not an A380 anywhere with 800 seats, and if you configure it with 800 seats than you can only carry enough fuel to go just over 6,000 N M. An A380 right now full of fuel can only carry 110,000 lbs. Thats crew, pass, luggage, cargo, drinks and food, Which realistically will give you about 450 passengers if you take no cargo. That would put the plane at it's maximum gross takeoff weight. Fuel is heavy the A380 holds 507,956 lbs ( 230,365 Kg ) of fuel
@Airbusftw Fuel costs cannot be covered by the difference in passenger ratio. The plane needs to create less drag to be more efficient, which would require new wings at the very least. Fuel not Airplanes is the biggest cost airlines incure. Right now here it would cost $431,745.60 to fuel an A380. The A380 is too old style areodynamicaly to compete. The A350 has already gone through 2 design stages and new wings to stay current with the new Boeings
@Airbusftw I got news for you the max pasengers an A380 can carry on a 8,000 N M flight is 487 passengers, and that is only if the cargo hold is empty. to go 8,000 N M the plane needs 507,423 lbs of fuel leaving it with just over 100,000 lbs of payload. Where as 2 787's could carry 56 more passengers and some cargo at a cost of 11.3% less.. Would you want to be at an airport gate with 799 other people, didn't think so. A380 sales are way down from predictions
yeah i would say the same because the a380 is super heavy and the wings are amazingly wide and long but the 787's are pretty much average to what any long/medium haul aircraft are
Yup well tbh its harsh to say they suck im sure theyre much safer now wich is a good thing but us hunmans are relying on computers too much its just all of wack for me.
The 787 is a 767 replacement and the A380 is bigger than the 747.
The 787 is better than the equivalent Airbus (A350?) because, being a revolutionary composite aircraft, it will burn 20% less fuel and not have corrosion-caused maintenance issues... once they fix the delamination problem with the wing skin at the wing-body join.
Burn the CD that this offensive, worthless, talentless song is on. Especially if you are an impressionable young kid! :)
i was going for the impression of two of the newest aircraft from the two main competetors and which would people rather fly with or possibly buy if they owned a airline.
sorry i dnt undersand what u r saying about the music
Which is your favorite? I don't like Airbuses, but I have to admit that the huge wing on the A380 is very impressive looking- especially with the flaps down!
The 787 will be a great airplane, but I will always love the 777 most!
(I was trying to be funny with my music comment. It didn't work! :)
oh ok sorry for my bad humour i usually get jokes like that but im a bit stuck atm lol
yeah i love the engines on the 777 but the 'noise pollution decrease' as i call it on the 787 looks good
yeah i love the way normally how the wings near the body of the aircraft on the a380 actually bend and sweep away so quickly and gracefully its amazing!
lol im in cornwall (uk) so nothing special here hence y there r no recordings or photographs of my own :(
These idiots on Boeing don't know why people prefer to sit on an 747 than any other plane when there was no A380. It was because they felt like they were in the best and biggest luxurious commercial aircraft in the world. Now that the A380 has come these idiots still don't know what to do to compete except make some unnoticeable changes. Completely different aircraft, but I'd take the 787 over the Airbus, or ANY Airbus, anyday.
Just look at overall safety records based on statistics that include the number of planes made, flights, etc.
I would not fly the 380 - No way. Stick with the 747.
BTW - my mother came up with the phrase "If it's not Boeing, I'm not going".
She won a prize for it - some kitchen ware (how cheap!).
Boeing chainged it to:"If it's not Boeing, I 'aint going".
Being British(Welsh), this never sat well with mum.
