Vintage Sears Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve Amp pt. 1

Mine is from 65....you need to check to numbers on the pots. The reverb is very CAVEY!!!! Perfect for slow spooky atmospheric stuff. I play surf music so I use a Boss 63 reverb pedal on full treble drip and that in combination with the silvertone reverb it sounds very unique.

Have one of these myself and love it. The only problem with it is the reverb.

@jfr04 this amp doesnt distort like mine cause it has the original jensens and and it growls,this is WAY clean compared to my combo !!

Is that an old Aussie made amp? Like the Goldentones? Very rare but nice valve amps from the 60s.

@DMSProduktions no, it is a made in the usa, sold by sears dept stores in the 60s.

Im actually old enuff to remember these amps/heads, lots of Silvertone's around in the 70's; opened it up and looked at the guts yet ?

@scorpguitar79 that is too cool, great find there, any chance they stamped the made date on it ? And please tell me if it looks like so really old tubes in there, just curious; I know YouTube squashes the sound alittle but how does it sound to your ears ??

@BH4462Z havent looked at dates on transformers or tubes yet, but the sound to my ears is lovely, slightly compressed and crisp. Cleans are crisp and spongey, overdrive is raunchy but not ratty. The reverb is non-functional on this amp (no big loss) and instead using that control adds more overdrive on channel 2. I'm gonna try and upload a cleaner clip as I didnt realize it was lightly breaking up on channel 1.
