Yes, our ears cannot perceive sound in space because they capture air waves, but sound DOES transmit in the void in different forms, such as radiowaves!

If for example our ears could capture radio frequencies, we could even listen to Jupiter, the Sun or even Pulstars!

@loupax Those are two different waves, sound waves travel at a frequency that our ears can hear, however radios waves travel at a much higher frequency which we cannot hear, thus we need electronics to translate it.

Sound waves are produced by oscillations of air, in space there are none, however radio waves are produced by oscillations of light's photons, therefore is able to travel through a vacuum.

@VulcanofWar no, there is a lot of stuff in space, believe me. It's a virtual vaccum but not a perfect one. There are places in the Universe were there is absolutely nothing, and hence no sound. But we happen to live in a relatively "dense" part of the Universe.

If you scream in the space anywhere near our galaxy, I can't hear you, but some instruments can pick it up. sound waves do travel, they're just extremely dampered.
