Maxpedition Spartan, Urban & Micro Wallet Re-Review/Comparison

@FatasMe - Yeah, its a year later and I still use this wallet every day. Holding up great, no issues at all. Love it still!

Is your keyboard in the background a Mac keyboard? If so how do you like the Mac?

@dgallag339 - I have 2 iMacs setup side by side for family play of World of Warcraft. Same with Xboxes. I dumped all of my Windows PCs a few years ago, just have Macs now, including an iPad and an AirBook most recently. The black keyboard lights up at night, the other keyboard is just the default Mac keyboard. We tend to unfortunately destroy keyboards accidentally with sodas and beers... I have a stockpile of them in a closet so disruption is minimal no matter the date/time of the "oops".

Another problem with the Spartan is that US bills are barely fit in it. An extra 1/2 inch in pocket length would make it a lot easier to get bills in and out. Maxpedition still hasn't gotten the wallet right.

Love minimalist wallets and that micro looks great! I love the idea of lining the micro with a pen! I think I'd opt for the micro, but right now im looking into saddleback leather..oh man the sickness of collecting..

@ZippoThisKnifeThat I don't think the Micro will disappoint you, definitely my favorite. Spsilvgo reviewed a leather wallet a few days ago that caught my attention. It looked like a great minimalist leather wallet, that would be ideal for slacks use. I am going to try and track it down also. Is that the one you were referring to?

Im not a big fan of velco closures. Something about a velcro closure seems childish and I hate how loud it gets. Im contemplating getting the Spec-Ops T.H.E Wallet JR.

@nosaj03 I looked at THE Wallet Jr also initially, it struck me as being similar in size to the Spartan... which is what I thought I wanted. If you get the Jr, maybe try Micro too, they are cheap and you might love the huge size difference sometime! It would be a great minimalist alternative to THE Wallet Jr when wearing shorts or jogging pants at the gym or something.

Great comparison vid! I was looking into the Spartan at one time but I really didn't like the velcro. I hate noisy opening wallets, lol! I finally just made my own out of duct tape:) Thanks for the vid!

@darkchild57 Duct Tape?! AWESOME!! LOL!! Mythbusters built a boat with that stuff, it truly is amazing.  If you aren't sure, get the Micro! Everyone I hear from loves it.

I couldn't decide between the Urban and the Micro so I got both. Use them both daily. Micro carries EDC cards and Urban holds all the other stuff. Very nice review. +1 for the pen hack!

@RoscoeBa Thanks Roz, and thats pretty much how I ended up with all three as well, bought the Spartan first and wasn't quite happy, bought both the others because I wasn't certain. Definitely love the little Micro for EDC, but use the Urban too. If I had to give one up it would be the Spartan, the Micro and Urban are just excellent.

@jsh1284 Knifeworks sells these wallets at reasonable prices. Check them out if you get the chance. The Micro is definitely my favorite, but my EDC kit is very small, however the Urban would surely be my choice if I had to carry more!
