This is one of the most touching messages I have ever heard.... I will choose to "go" because he called me and choose me as His own... now I have the priviledge to go for Him.
@ mujlel. you are right. it seems as though many North American churches today are the mission field. so many confessing Christians and so few followers of Christ
Do you honestly think your hopes and dreams for your life are bigger and better than God's?
As a person who did exactly what you just described, I can tell you that God's heart for you is to fulfill you in ways which you haven't even imagined. I can't imagine NOT serving on the mission field now.
To live a life half for God is not to live for God at all.
Very true. In Acts 1:8, Jesus said, "You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and even the remotest pats of the earth..." The problem is N. America is completely saturated with churches and Christians while most the rest of the world has never even met a Christian or heard the Gospel message. If God has called you to your Jerusalem, great! But don't use it as a cop out to ignore the remaining 99.9% of the world who needs Christ. Overseas is simply more crucial than N America ;-)
You're right about the Western church, but wrong that those issues should preclude missions. If you wait until your home is perfect before you venture out into the world, you'll never go, for it will never be perfect. Jesus didn't tell His disciples to fix Israel before they went to the rest of the world- if He did, there wouldn't be a single gentile believer to this day.
Israel grew cold to Christ and later Europe, so is N. America. Christianity is on the decline here- it won't be revived.
go into your culture with your family. Do you think our comfortable western world is in any sense more Christian than the developing world? No, it is less so.
William Carey, missionary to India, who opened the door to missions in India took his wife, job, and kids. =) Even though the wife had a different idea...she wanted to stay behind, the Lord moved His mighty hand, and in time, she yielded and went.
Amazing... Truth really does set us free, to see what life is really meant to be about... Voluntarily giving our lives so that others may live. An amazing truth, and first and foremost demonstrated by God Himself... Thank you for sharing this! ~Sean

unfortunately....while there are many churches here...many of those churches preach a seeker sensitive post modern message.
In fact, a huge amount of churches are so lukewarm and worldy today that they are useless.
