@ladyaries4 Hi. He is 4 years old (going in 4 months). I howled playfully at him and he howled back and eventually I turned my howl into RI RUV RU. He went along with it and got sooo excited when I talked to him . Finally I refined it to I love you. Good luck!

The white female I had is a perfect twin of Snowball... skinny & hyper! No matter how much I feed... no weight gain. Snowball like most huskies are picky and I have to add salmon or something else to his food to get him to eat..

Snowball was a rescue dog and he was 4 years old when I adopted him, so I didn't want to confuse him with a new name. I probably would have named him something else if I got him as a puppy.

My dog is EXACTLY the same except my dog's a girl, not a boy. She talks ALL the time, which is so funny to me. But we cant teach her English, only husky words come out of her mouth. Nice dog by the way! :)

I think it's because many huskies like to to respond to other dogs by howling, so they naturally like to talk back- my guess....

They are special pets, but you are right... very difficult unless you are a very patient person with a lot of energy! The biggest issue with mine (5) is that they want to explore and run and can go 50 miles in one day. I would suggest crate training & perimeter training with a wireless fence. It is my saving grace.

Recently, I had to give Snowball away to another family, and I miss him so much! Haven't been able to get in touch with the new owner and I'm afraid he's run away.

Interesting! Mine is not. As a matter of fact, I think she was neglected before I bought her. She was actually affraid of human contact. I bought her and a Black Husky together when they were 3 months old. They turned out to be sick with Giardia and finally I used sulpha-antibiotics to cure them.
