  • he named his own son after CALVIN?! oh my....

  • I was there!

  • israel rocks!

  • How beautiful it is to see Pastor Mark baptize his son!

  • Wow. That was powerful.

  • Precious!!!

  • Amen!

  • Awesome. Jesus said, "Don't suffer the children from coming to me." He also said it strong that if anyone stumbles a little child from entering into the kingdom of God, it's best to tie a milestone(weight of a car) around his neck and go jump into the deepend of the pool.

Awesome, Calvin. Congrats and keep following Jesus!

  • And how do any of the critics know that his son has made the decision to follow Jesus of his own free will? He may be young, but he's old enough to have experienced Jesus and to know he wants to follow him, if nothing else. And if not, then call it an infant baptism and be done with it. Whatever you think of Driscoll - and I don't agree with a lot of what he says - his son wants to follow Jesus and he certainly wants his son to, and both are good pursuits in themselves.

  • Wonderful. Nothing like some dirty water for god. Should be ashamed of yourself! This should be illegal!

  • Why would you want his kids to be abandoned? That's ignorant. Do you live in Washington and got picked on by this guy? Why watch him if you don't like him?

  • Freedom of speech much?

  • The one who is pathetic is you and people like you. Who want to cover their sin with anything else, but the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. In your heart you know He is real, but you still deny Him. True Christians are not the enemy. They are for peace and joy. People like you are the enemy, who want to take away freedom from people (look at your American President.)

  • What a beautiful display of father-son love. I feel blessed tonight. Thank you, Pastor Mark.

  • LinkD3 said it best. Mark would agree it's symbolism. Peter says it in the Bible, we all agree. Awesome though that you would choose to have it done in the Jordan River. Obviously it isn't the SAME but it would be like hitting a homerun at Fenway if you grew up a Red Sox fan. It wouldn't count as MORE runs but it would definitely be awesome.

  • That was really moving and me cry :)

  • Pastor Mark would agree.

    Its about the symbolism.

    Know what your talking about...

  • What's your point??

  • Oh..You just want to argue. Do you do that with all Christian Videos or just anything "religious" in general??

  • No need to argue when you have reality on your side. Have a great day!

  • Whether you believe this or not, know that if you die without Christ you'll get God's wrath poured on you for eternity. You don't need to respond, I got reality on my side so I don't need to argue with you. You have the best day of your entire life, when you repent.

  • Toledosteal

why do you write such things?

    What are your intentions?

Why do you have to gain in this sort of behaviour?

    You seem unhappy.

Leave the kid he's fine, he's with his father who appears to love him dearly.

I hope you'll find truth and love as well.

  • Brainwashing is forcing something upon a child. Baptism is a free choice and expression of Mark's son's devotion and love for Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

By your understanding of what "brainwashing" is (basically passing on your beliefs to your children, but not in a "shove-it-down-your-throat" way), I could say that whatever views/worldviews/morals/etc that you impart upon your children is brainwashing as well.

You have to realize how very careful you need to be when defining your terms.

  • I am brainwashed too. Thank God that he doesn't just wash away our sins but Jesus renews our mind and gives us the mind of Christ. My mind needs to be washed daily of my sinful thinking. How bout you?

  • AMEN!

  • Well, that's just because you're coming from a completely worldview. To the Christian, baptism isn't seen as just a "pointless ritual."
