What he leaves out of the Mcluhan dialog is the point where the tool flips. That is it begins to do the opposite of what it once was. I say this in reference to the global village and the internet etc. At first it became an avenue of wide expression and freedom of communication. Now it has become an unforgiving memory and a tracking system. Our lives are much more probed and monitored than ever before.

When I was 17 around this time I was tripping out in the backwoods just down the road in PA mountains, what synchronicities abound here. I didn't know much about this genius at that time.
