The moment I realized I was going to be a Deadhead for the rest of my life was at this show. I was nineteen, it was my third show or so (over two years). I won't say what part in which song because that's private. Thanks for posting...
I was at this. How awesome to have someone catch it with the great sound that's here. Of course Red Rocks just had great sound everywhere. Thanks for posting this. We love you.
Great Full Jam! Im busy tie dyeing a 66 x 108 Tapestry and this is makeing it so much easier to be creative!God and Jesus are Jamming with some awesome musicians.Amen.
making me laugh. At 1:14 Micky Harts kit is falling apart. Saw Rhythm Devils 2 summers ago...and Micky Harts kit was STILL falling apart ;-). How come Neil Pearts is always staying together? lol
OMG! It was after seeing them at this show that I decided to move to Boulder! That week we saw them all three nights and then Telluride as well. Awesome time. greatest shows I ever saw!
This was my first show ever. I went to college in Golden, CO and was invited to this as a fraternity rush activity. What a excellent start to a lifelong love of the Dead
Set I: 1. Tuning 2. Cold Rain & Snow > 3. C.C. Rider 4. Candyman 5. Beat It On Down The Line 6. Stagger Lee 7. Me & My Uncle > 8. Big River 9. Peggy-O 10. Let It Grow Set II: 11. Tuning 12. Scarlet Begonias > 13. Fire On The Mountain 14. Estimated Prophet > 15. Eyes Of The World > 16. Drums > 17. Space > 18 Gimme Some Lovin > 19. Wharf Rat > 20. Sugar Magnolia 21. E. Brokedown Palace
at one Red Rocks show the year before, the cool colorado rain started toward the end of the first set, and then really became a downpour. jerry, laughing, launched into Cold Rain & Snow and we were all screaming along to close the set. good old GD!
Thank God I started seeing "the Grateful Dead" in '89. Even though I was only 16 years old, I remember walking into my 1st show ever(12/9/89) and thinking , "Oh my God, I've found MY THING". For an L.A. native to see 42 shows I'm content. They got a pretty bad rap in L.A. in the late '80s & early '90s(due to irresponsible fans!!!). Banned from; The Forum,CS Dominguez, & Irvine Meadows. I saw a lot of No. Cal. shows(9 of the 39 shows ever played at Shoreline & 9 in Oakland). Jerry4ever!!!
I so wish that I was born five years earlier or in San Francisco. I got a chance to see Jerry, but I would have seen him so much more if I had been introduced at an earlier age. Probably wouldn't have finished high school though.
That really ponks my funny bone. I saw the Dead for the first time when I was 15 at Winterland in San Francisco and became a full-fledged Dead head and acid dealer. I didn't finish high school.
Didn't matter, I never got busted for dealing and got my GED and went to college... Good times.
@Frenchychef13 I almost didn't because of these guys! It was always 1) Where are the Dead and 2) How am I getting there. Wonderful times for a 17-year old punk. =)
si ce n'était pas si "éblouïssant",cela aurait été numéro 1

rja958 do you remember the song after the break for the rain? I remember the sunbeams and Here Comes Sunshine.
This year it was so damn hot. We didn't know about water bottles then. The beer flowed though.
This place is so much Jerry's house, Warren plays a Grateful Dead tune every time he performs here. Last I saw was Morning Dew!
