aww hes so cute cuz hes young and plays the drumms,,ahh shit the fuck up no who gives a fuck about how old u are just play the fucking song correctly and get on with it
Great job, Neil! It's amazing that you're already tackling the tougher material like Rush at your age. That's the path to greatness--always shoot high!
i too noticed a few problems ..first off i wanna say for 10 playing rush is really good but still... one flaw is at the beginning you are on the ride with high hat shots (around :50 ish) where that part is on the high hat and i think just as you grows up and just keeps practicing drumming will become a little more fluid and natural... but still quite good for 10!
(just a side note i kinda dislike your cymbols but it may just be the mix... nothing wrong with you there just saying)
a couple mistakes but its so good! ur younger than me and still better! but as scunnewman said dont listen to the people saying that you suck and everything, the reality is,is that they suck,so there gonna put there negativity on you.but keep up this awesome drumming
Jesus he's ten years old, give him a break. Of course it's not perfect but what the hell did you guys play like at 10. He obviously has the raw ability and he's pulling some cool chops out. Give him time and he will be smokin all u negative losers. As for the folks that like to throw the negative shit out there, where are yr postings? Keep up the good work little man and good job. Don't pay any attention to these jerks. They like to step on ants too.
Wow this is unforgivable. Whats worse is that all of you are trying to encourage this child to continue his suck spree. Learn some chops and practice with a metronome before you murder Rush's legacy even further.
dude sweet job. cant belive you went for neil pert that is one of the best drummer of all time sweet job keep it up and just follow the music peace!!!
Love those symbols. this is great bunch of us drummers talking. its great to talk to ppl who no so much about this when beginners know so little. this kid is the beast. someone aughta sign him a record deal. this kid will make it. i know a star when i see one.
some guys can play the drums and some can cook the drums this guy cooks,He is so small and never tires drumming is very physical, very strong young man.great job.
The part at 00:19 and 3:39 stumps everyone. It's never been scored or tabbed right, but even at half-speed it's hard to tell what they're doing. Everyone I know of flubs it. That's prog for you.
Where's the glockenspiel? :) Just kidding; nicely done.
simply just, wow. i have always wanted to be able to make people do what u did to me when i heard u playing. i started smiling out of being impressed and started to move to the music. youve got future in music my friend, keep it up
Wow!!! I have watched many other older and so called accomplished drummers cover rush's spirit of radio!!! You blow them away by far!!! You possess tremendous talent!!! Keep on rockin!!! Your performance in a word was AWESOME!!!!!
Outstanding! I remember when I started playing drums at age 10, and I can really appreciate Neil's skill. This kid is going to have the women clawing down his door! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Enjoyed the hi-hat accents!
I am guessing you are his parent. Good move, I agree. He will do just fine. I found a simple African drum and a nice, or bad day just beating out rythyms helps. Take care.
O wow thats great I also play a lil stare in the school band , but after my first year our band teacher went off to college and quit and the fill in teacher was a disater so I decided just to teach myself at home but joining the band is going to impove his already impressive skill
man lucky kid, parents got u a sick kit, i recommend picking up a book on how to tune those cause they arent getting the great resonance that those drums should get
uhg man this kid is better than me but one day ill drum like that i wonder how long it took him to learn or he just picked it up. man i got 2 watch this again
This one took a while to get to this point. Most of the other songs on youtube were picked up pretty quickly, but for whatever reason this one was more difficult than it seemed it should be. Of course, it is not perfect by any stretch even now, but I think it is respectable.
Thanks for the comment, and keep on drumming!
- If the whole world were drummers there wouldn't be any wars... well, then again, maybe there would be wars, but you wouldn't be able to hear them :-)
First off, yes it is a great thing and a great job for this young man...but this is no way any improvement. The extra high-hat accentuations aren't good. They actually detract from the tune. This is cool to see young interests in Rush and he does a great job. Keep up the great work...
Not all the cymbals are the best that's for sure; but I think the microphone (on the cheap digital camcorder probably plays a role in the quality).
The far (from the camera, on the right) crash, is a really really nice Zildjan, and it sounds great in person; likewise the Paiste rude (being used as a ride) is also a very nice cymbal. The others are definitely low end.
Ther meter on his playing is off but he's only 10yrs old give him time and he will no doubt be a really good drummer with a career ahead of him. God bless.
Banged around on drums at 4, started taking Lessons at 5. Fell in love with Rush at about 6 (hemispheres of all things), the who at age 7, somehow encountered Airto Moreira and went through a phase that tickled his interest in general percussion.
He loves playing drums. I do also, but I neither encouraged or discouraged him (other than the fact I had drums, and you got to figure that to a 4 year old a drum kit looks like something you just *have* to play with :-).

First off, yes it is a great thing and a great job for this young man...but this is no way any improvement. The extra high-hat accentuations aren't good. They actually detract from the tune. This is cool to see young interests in Rush and he does a great job. Keep up the great work...

LOL! Not an improvement from Rush... an improvement from his prior attempt (which has since been taken down).
If you check the initial comments, you can see agreement on the accentuated high-hat...
