  • Very nice

  • Nice shot man gotta love a .223 my favorite round for hogs i Shoot the Howa 1500 and love it

  • Nice clean kill. What more could you ask for. Good shooting!

  • you ever noticed how an animal seems to know something is going to hapen i shoot alot of rabbits and goats in NZ and 90% of the time just before you squeeze the trigger the animal seems to sence something is wrong stops what its doing and looks around like that one did.

  • @randoriremix Yeah, but to be fair they do it their entire lives. It's natural survival instinct to them to do it every 5-10 seconds. Just picture us being stranded in a place like africa (for size scale). We'd be looking around our shoulder every 10 seconds just to check no big pussy was stalking us ;)

  • Well it depends. 90 % of joeys in a roos pouch can survive on their own anyway. But the fact is, i dont shoot for personal gain or for meat usage, i shoot for varmint control. So if i shoot one that i can see has a joey in its pouch, i will put it out aswell instead of making it suffer by itself.

  • is there any way to diffrentiate a male n a female? or u jus kill

  • @TheRanjith0636 Nah not with roos like this one, but with the big greys and especially the reds, the bucks are quite larger in size, so its always nice to get a few of those.

  • @SLASH308 alright bro... in case u shoot a nursing female? u dont mistake in it ?

  • man give me a reson for hunting kangoroo.....you eat this animals or what??? my curiosytti

  • @jackrusselleko Roos outnumber humans 3:1 in Australia. They are culled by professionals an average of 5 million in count every year, not to mention the culling by recreational shooters like myself, which would surely be another 3 mil or so. So 8 mil estimated culling, yet they grow 2 million estimated still every year. So if nobody culled them, they would overpopulate the country (even more). And yes, the professional roo shooters sell their meat. It's available in most large supermarkets.

  • @SLASH308 thank you..that was my curiosity.. i understand you..in my country hogs ar problem..wild pig and are big and dangerous

  • @jackrusselleko Same here. I go hunting for them often. They're starting to get very populated here. This time last year we got 73 in around 9 days.

  • @SLASH308 73 omg .... its you problem not my..in my country the wild pig are problem but i dont have the right to hunt...is too expensive.. sorry for my english

  • we love it

  • It's more gamey than venison. Gotta be medium rare, well done is like old boots. I get a bit of back strap fillet, put it in a resealable bag and put in a half cup red wine, garlic, soy, some honey, leave it overnight... bobs ur uncle. 12 hrs later ...BBQ! Big boomers r not so good u want a young doe. In oz theres a lot of laws about hunting roos. Tasmanians can shoot some and in New Zealand they're a feral pest. They have almost NO cholesterol, and don't make excessive methane like cows

  • Thanks good to know.. I would say the taste of venison is similar to your description...

  • What does roo meat taste like?

  • @N609B Strong, Not too different from steak just with a much stronger taste to it, like it hasnt been bled out as much. Never tasted venison but im guessing it would be similar to that?

  • splendid shot, got to say those .223's really are the business. Mine is ready for a jolly tomorrow, hope to get a fox. .

  • Smoked!

  • good kill but i have to admit i did a fluky shot last weekend i got straghit through the heart with my rem .222 and it just dropped didn't move a bit. P.S i was about 200 yards

  • Good clean kill. I have a Savage .223 and it performs very well on Roos anywhere up to about 400 yards away with that Federal Premium .223 ballistic tipped ammo.

  • NICE SHOT MY FRIEND..

  • very nice

  • What a great shot.

  • great shot

  • Well done...

  • U smoked that Roo

  • Great Shot!

  • nice clean shot i could do same but bullet wouldnt go straight through mainly it would take me 2 shots both rib shots

  • nice shot mate. im going to alice springs soon i need some pointers on what i should use

  • @madblazars ..Locals are using soft point boomerangs....and hard jacket tipped spears....with a scope..

  • nice shooting

  • Nice clean kill on that roo!-what bullet were you using?

  • Hollow point ofc ;) Can't beat the fireworks much more than that.

  • @SLASH308 i just ordered a tikka t3 hunter in .223 for mainly fox and rabbit shooting but only a little bit for kangaroo shooting, what weight bullet would you reccomend? only reason im gonna be doing shit all roo shooting with this .223 is because i use my ruger m77 hawkeye in .30-06 for roos!

  • @JACF7427 Why on earth would you use a 30-06 for roos lol? such an overkill.... But regardless, 55gr SP or 52gr HP would be the projectiles to use.

  • @SLASH308 its not really that "over-kill" people use .30-06's on goats, which goats are rougly same size as a roo so why? i dont think its overkill, yeah might be capable of doing it with a less high powered rifle but why when i can take my .30-06 out to shoot roos and the place that i go roo shooting has alot of deer around so hey i might get lucky one day and get myself a buck. yeah i think i will go with the 55 grain soft point, cheers!

  • @JACF7427 Lol man, goats are nothing like roos. Roos are a thin, easily penatrable animal, can kill them with 22.s and everything. Goats are actually quite a tough beast to take down. Yes, 223 will easily do it, however the chance that your shot will be inneffective against the animal greatly increases as the 223 is still a fairly small bullet. 22-250 yes, the extra powder helps, but still, its essential to hit the vital areas with precision. 30 calibres however, any hit is a kill /fatal wound.

  • @SLASH308 yeah i know you can kill a roo with a .22 i kill them with my .17 hmr when im spotlighting. and i dopnt understand if you are agreeing with me here that a .30-06 is fine or it is overkill? as you state "30 calibres however, any hit is a kill /fatal wound" but anyway i like to use my .30-06 on kangaroos but also wanna use .223 on kangaroos.

  • @JACF7427 its an overkill because the bullets cost twice as much? Even handloaded....

  • @SLASH308 all honesty, i dont care how much the ammo cost me, i just enjoy going out hunting with my dad and 2 brothers, im not a serioues/professional hunter, i just do it to spend time with my brothers and dad. i buy guns that look and feel nice too me, dont care about caliber.

  • rofl, you really are a roo shooter
