Exactly resqjason2. FWFD uses smooth bore nozzles on their cafs engines. This engine is not a cafs engine. Not all companies that have cafs even use it at all.
why are they using a fog nozzle if they are using CAFS? if they are just using a class A foam then it makes sense. CAFS is supposed to be run thru a smooth bore
The whole mentality of "pushing" a fire is a misnomer....especially when dealing with CAFS as they are here. The only time there is actually a significant risk of "pushing" a fire is if you set up a master stream and it breaks through a wall....exposing an unexposed area of the building to fire. But most of the time when you are using master streams, the building is obviously usually heavily involved and this is not of much concern.
Please, anyone who still believes that fire streams ALWAYS, and in every situation, push fire into a structure..... educate yourself and break free of the old mentality! There have been studies that disprove this, most notably by NIST.
why not go in from the c side and push it out the front? yea you will black it out but, doing so will push that fire into the attic and the rest of the house...
BUT im not there so just an opinion from the short video
@lewisbran You are not going to push any fire in a structure this small that it isn't there already. The house is already well involved and the only thing you are saving at this point is the actual structure, the contents are already destroyed.
@heheking1 If you will notice right at 2 seconds you will see a firefighter walk from the "B" side of the structure. They did a walk around thus the reason for attacking it from the front of the house. I assure you, they are one of the most trained departments in the country.
Nice Job!

The fire went out quick and no one was hurt. Isn't that the point?

Don,t you have to put fire out from the side that is not burned to the burned side? Unless a good walk around was done and this was not possible.
