  • Nice flying buddy, mine cost 69.99 from maplin too, was so impressed, and yes i fly with a few blade chunks missing. had to repair landing skiis though :) My lama 5 takes off, then a few seconds later, lands again with the receiver LED flashing on and off quickly. Changed batteries for transmitter and heli, but no joy, any ideas anyone??

  • I have one of these. were did you get yours? I paid £69.99 from MAPLIN. Check out my video. I'm just about to go record another video now.

your control is pretty good too. mine still flys with chunks missing out the end of the rotors.

  • well flown and great control

  • Hi Taoistflyer, I bought a Lama5 just yesterday and I'm practicing the art of hovering. What I can't figure out is how to make those sharp turns around its axis; swinging the tail round I mean. The manual indicates rotating is with the same stick as when you send the whole machine left or right, but that's all that I get: the whole thing going off, not turning while staying in place. Can you explain me how to do it?

  • Ah okay, it's the left-right on the *other* stick... I'm so thick.

  • cool brill flying!

  • First few attempts 'My Ass!' what with blade track paint and skid rubbers on. Me thinks you've been flying quite a while my fellow.

  • only about 7-8 months

Hi Hugo, dan and anyone else from ysgol frias 7n,7e ar anyother form!!!

  • please add it to your faves!!!

  • Cool man, you are a good pilot. (Not my case unfortunately but I keep practicing).

  • good job, nice landing. you're getting the hang of it pretty quickly. and good saves to

i noticed yours has the little jet engine on it just like the full scale lama, it looks much cooler.

  • Hi Taoistflyer

    Can you help!!

I have just bought a Lama 5 and I cant get it flying properly.

At the moment it keep pulling back and to the left ... I have adjusted the trim on the controller but nothing seems to work.

    Any ideas anyone?

  • If the heli is moving back and to the left it may be that the swash plate is not level. Put the helicopter on a flat level surface, plug the battery in and see if the swash plate levels itself or if it is leaning back and to the left.

To adjust how the swash plate sits You can disconnect the servo rods and make them shorter or longer by unscrewing or screwing them. Also make sure your center of gravity is the center of the blades.

  • Good job, I'm impressed, that's a hard landing to try, I have a feeling you are going to be a good pilot.
