Nice flying buddy, mine cost 69.99 from maplin too, was so impressed, and yes i fly with a few blade chunks missing. had to repair landing skiis though :) My lama 5 takes off, then a few seconds later, lands again with the receiver LED flashing on and off quickly. Changed batteries for transmitter and heli, but no joy, any ideas anyone??
Hi Taoistflyer, I bought a Lama5 just yesterday and I'm practicing the art of hovering. What I can't figure out is how to make those sharp turns around its axis; swinging the tail round I mean. The manual indicates rotating is with the same stick as when you send the whole machine left or right, but that's all that I get: the whole thing going off, not turning while staying in place. Can you explain me how to do it?
If the heli is moving back and to the left it may be that the swash plate is not level. Put the helicopter on a flat level surface, plug the battery in and see if the swash plate levels itself or if it is leaning back and to the left.
To adjust how the swash plate sits You can disconnect the servo rods and make them shorter or longer by unscrewing or screwing them. Also make sure your center of gravity is the center of the blades.

Good job, I'm impressed, that's a hard landing to try, I have a feeling you are going to be a good pilot.
