it does suck that they kill and eat dogs. But in some cultures they view the cow differently because it works hard, provides milk and so they don't eat it. To us a cow is just another animal on the menu so it really depends where you're coming from. Our culture is used to having dogs as pets so we're a bit turned off about the idea of eating a dog.

I don't understand why eating a dog is so offensive to people when eating a pig, cow , sheep and many other things is just considered a normal food to eat. why cant a dog be eaten like anything else. Its of course little disturbing if the dog is your pet but its there traditions and I´m not going to hate on there culture. I'm going to show respect.

I will say that I did not like how the dog was killed or the reason why it was eaten. @darkmetaly before we close this subject, I must say its not that I have a problem with them eating a dog, even japanese and chinese( I am not sure about them) ppl eat dogs. its just the way they slaughtered the animal and then justified it with some superstitious illogical reasoning, thats what is actually bothersome to me. it was plain cruel and hence wrong, thought Id clear out my point of view.

@darkmetaly I agree. Indians view eating cows as bad but people do it. Muslims and Jes say it is wrong to eat pigs but people do it. I have most likly have eaten an animal that somebody else on the planet thinks should not be consumed.

@RSPersonKiller I know people who have a sheep as pet yet it is eaten in my country. you have to try to look at this subject from the world prospective not just your own culture because not every culture In the world considers the dog to be mans best friend. some dogs are raised to be food just like guinea pigs in Peru and sheep´s here in Iceland.

@darkmetaly Carnivores have higher level of heavy metals, radioactive isotopes, and carcinogenic compounds than the herbivores would have. These can't be destroyed or removed by cooking (i.e. you couldn't cook mercury out of dog meat). It's not so much of a problem if you limit your intake - eating dog meat wouldn't be hazardous, but eating a LOT of dog meat would be (or eating tissue that filters and accumulates toxins, like the dog's liver).

It may be sad but if you think about just for a moment dogs are just animals as well as chicken, cow etc etc. Only reason alot of people think this is cruel is because we are use to having dogs as pets while in other countries such as here they eat them and its a tradition to kill and eat a dog. I'm not gonna lie I did flinch when they hit the dog but if I look at it through the tribe's perspective this is exactly what they do and I respect it.

Cows, on other hand, helped us farm our food, helped up build great monuments and carried good to be traded among different people. Thanks to cows, it was possible for us to build truely great cultures. According to your arguement, we should be eating dogs and venerating the cows.

If you are going to eat an animal at least kill it in a way that it feels the least pain as possible.

But im guessing since they blood was coming from the head and not the torso the first swing could have killed it if not have knocked it out.
