  • Thank you very much for uploading this!

  • Philik K Dick may have been a genius, but he was a fool for seperating with his second wife, who came across as a lovely person.

  • he was into bogomilism- he should have read stoic philosophy.

  • dayumm phil was a playa!

  • ''stigmata of palmer'' was a boring read. but when i was done, i was haunted forevermore.

  • 2nd wife = lovely person

  • fbi ruins documentaries

  • i like the mock FBI it adds to the paranoia aspect

  • What FBI men... I never saw any FBI men, sounds like an object of interest.

  • the FBI segments fit the theme perfectly

  • fantastic work. i don't agree with the criticism of the fbi segments. the whole thing is professional and visuallly appealing, perhaps the best pkd documentary. well done!

  • ari1234a.........its clear your not a genius....learn to spell

  • @vettedreams Ha ha. You're =P

  • Brilliant!Thx!

  • Dosent matter that much these FBI cronies.

They didnt know they were in the presence of a genious.

  • anyways...this is a great piece of work

  • That's interesting, thanks for posting.

  • eveRYday

  • Great documentary. I'm not too sure about the "investigation" angle though. The mock FBI scenes distract rather than add to the experience for me. Though that may be a lack of vision on my part. I felt the same about the PKD product satire in the BBC arena documentary as well.

  • i agree. i dont know why documentary filmmakers do this. dicks life was fascinating enough in its own right to merit a straightforward approach. the interviews stand on their own.

  • I agree as well, it seems very campy. Especially where it concerns Dick; with his story being so tragic. I do see the point, though, in that it shows you the kind of world he thought he was living in (being monitored constantly and rigorously by some unknown force). And there's also a certain credible element to it, in that Dick's own work makes fun of itself. He is infamous for making fun of himself in a very honest and distinct way.

But over alll it's sophomoric, distracting and campy.

  • @majorhoop I just alt tab it, so I dont have to see the silly acting stuff. It's a bit of an american thing I guess, thinking the audience (which are READERS) have too little fantasy to give meaning to the stories and information themselves.

  • @goodflo911 ----thanks for the tip, & i think youre right. it does look like the director is pandering to a lowest common denominator. they should have left out that stuff and found something else to hold it together. i cant say i think much of the directors choice there.......

  • @majorhoop Yeah it's a bit baffling. Maybe it was done by one of those cheap discovery 'documentary' directors haha:P

  • IMO these scenes are a necessity in biography documentaries so that one will not be overwhelmed by the constant interviews,,,,

  • @nookie077

The FBI scenes are, I believe, a reference to when PKD came home one day and found his door forced open and his desk ransacked. He was 100% sure that the FBI was responsible but could not explain why he was being watched. He remained paranoid for the rest of his life.

  • Seems a plausible conclusion all things considered. Some random hood looking for money wouldn't have targeted his desk drawers. They would have been looking exclusively for money and valuables. Governmental, authoritarian hoods, on the other hand, would go right for where the information is, in his office.
