it's just a parody of the tv show... it's not meant to be taken seriously. it was produced by the actual creator of the original series Scherwood Schwartz and his son. the original greg, peter, alice, and carol made cameos. the original cindy and bobby also filmed scenes but were cut out. the movie is hilarious and it grossed a ton of money. most fans of the original show love it. the original cast love it too...
