@Jramsoebhag Sabian HHX Groove ride :P It's the most versatile I've heard anyway. Just as crashable as the sweet ride but got a much better ping and bell.
i play metal and jazz and for anykind of music i would use HH , is not about "fashion" or bright sound or "metal sound" its all about preferences.. for example gene hoglan and toma haake uses a lot of HH cymbals or vintage cymbals
so you should find your tone, i play vintage dark :)!
can someone plz tell me which is better for rock: the aax raw bell dry ride or the hh raw bell dry ride. and if u think another rbdr is better for rock tell me.
I just recently found out, after 5 years, that my hh raw bell dry ride has a signature done with a sharpie signed under the bell. I wish I could make it out! :(
Thanks for the opinions guys. I've owned this cymbal for about 4 or 5 years but I really liked the sound of Aaron harris's ride, the drummer for Isis, and I found out it was that paiste. I really love this one, I guess I'm just always looking for a reason to buy new gear for the set, ha.
I wouldn't recommend the HH or HHX series for death metal. It doesn't cut through the music like the AAX, APX, and AA series do. It's more for Jazz, Fusion, and Progressive Rock.
hi, I wonder if you could help me. I love this ride however all my other cymbals are zildjians and I'd like my ride to be in keeping with the rest of my setup. Could you tell me, if possible, which zildjian ride is most similar to this one.
(If it helps I am not interested in the crash-ability of the ride)
I play mostly thrash, but also a lot of jazz. However I find this cymbal too dark for either. My kit includes mostly A customs. This cymbal just doesn't have the bell sound I'm looking for.
what a cymbal, so much more of a focused tone ziljian avedis rides. And more articulaiton.

whats a "better" choice for a ride that suits all styles of music?
Sabian HH 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride?
Zildjian K Custom Hybrid 21" Ride?
Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride 21" ?
Jramsoebhag 1 year ago
@Jramsoebhag
Sweet Ride. And I'm a Sabian guy at heart.
zerosoma33 1 year ago
@zerosoma33 Actually the Sweet Ride is made by Zildjian =)
AvengedSevenfoldDrum 1 year ago
@Jramsoebhag For all styles i would say the sweet ride because its crashable.

You said in another video that Snare/Reso side head is an Ambassador Clear. Is it specifically a CLEAR or a HAZY?
lomac011 1 year ago
one weakness its clearly not crashable

Actually it sounds great when you crash it. Listen to the video with Tom. ( The old guy with the sunglasses).

All hand hammered cymbals have a signature. It's the signature of the guy whi has to approve of the cymbal when it leaves the factory.
DanishDrummingManiac 2 years ago
@inimicalODDITY all HH cymbals have signatures.

@sketchbager Ya, I have been informed of that since that comment, thanks for the input though, man.

if you want something bright and crisp go for the 2002 but if you want something dark and "well rounded" go for this

how does this cymbal cut for playing metal and death metal? sounds like it does but Im unsure
Joeskateapool 2 years ago
i would recommend you more the 21 apx solid ride or ride or an aa metal x ride of 221 or 22

I managed to snag one of these used for 150$. Its sounds great, but doesn't work at all with my kit or the style I play.

What is your style? cause I wana buy it. I play funk and I think it´s good for this style. Good luck!

awesome cymbal !
The tone of the wash is really nice and noot too powerful, stick attack is great. Bell sounds good too. This one is really a winner.

The larger the cymbal, the lower the pitch.
